I want one of each.
Striker
Grappler
Zoner
And Reversal Expert.

The first one is the one thats giving me trouble in the execution department...... The 3rd I find confusing but ultimately achievable.
The Other Two are No Problem.
Mila is all of the above. Part of why I like her. Jack of all trades

Yeah shes oddly capable...... kinda like Hayabusa.
Shes not very mobile though...... I honestly don't know what to do with 1 H+K H..... back dashing just seems faster.

I almost never use her little feint step. It just leaves her open.

Actually I use it as a taunt for a rhythmic back walk lol

it does wonder against hayabusa spamming teleport. correctly time, busa will fall just right in front of your Mila's Punch.
For :8::8: or :2::2: if it's for SS you may try to configure the SS with another button. such like :2:H+P+K.

My problem isn't that I get 7 sometimes. its that 44 never ever comes out unless I throw my entire arm into it. The other problem is different characters have different leniency for their 44 or 66 moves...... an example would be Tina's 44T.... I always get this throw right... never miss on either side but her 44P is much harder for some reason...... its even worse with Hayate... his 66P has a much higher leniency than his 66P+K.

Then either something is wrong with your controller, or your perception of time is distorted by how pretty the woman on the screen. I could be wrong, though, but i've never noticed it. Go into training mode and make sure your 4s aren't turning into 7s, and that your 8s aren't turning into 9s. Or record this for us so we can see specifically what's going on. I think Akira is the only one with a tie dependent move.

I've tried.... believe me.... for the past two years I have been trying my best but I'm not doing 88 or 44 any faster than I have when I first started. And its severely limited how much I can get out of the game I paid for....

Well, you are sticking ot the stick. They should've disabled the stick from the get-go (or, rather, unbound the IRQs except for camera control).

as hard as it is to believe not everybody can get past execution the barrier just by practicing..... somepeople just get stuck and they feel alienated because they can't do a simple 44P and just quite the game alltogether. I feel that way sometimes.

The input method is the issue. It was bad planning on TNs part to allow the stick when it's well known that their input timings had to be that tight and the ADCs in the standard stick are too slow for the inputs that matter. I used to be in your shoes, and when i was able to "go fast" my issue became inaccurate input. Just try it on the D-Pad, just for the sake seeing the difference. The issue is akin to all the complaints about reversed direction wiimote swings (hardware limitation).

Did that already......two years remember.
DoA is the only game I have this problem with. VF and MK know when I'm trying to perform 44 and if they had an 88 move I'm assuming they would come out too.

lol, wut

Using a decent controller is important in fighting games because 1. the "genre is hard" to begin with and 2. every damn d-pad on any joypad ever made just SUCKS. They may be inaccurate, may break quickly, may hurt your fingers, or all of these.
Just get a better controller that responds correctly at your movements, don't just do it for your fun, do it for your physical and mental health too lmao

They're probably not as strict. DoA doesn't like to use 474, but other games might just throw out that 7. I don't know VF enough to try, and i don't have MK to be 100% sure, but you're the only one complaining right now. Everyone has either fixed their issue (coordination) or they've switched to DPAD or a proper stick. I see no point in continuing this fork (hijack) of the thread when your clearly frustrated responses are ignoring what i'm telling you. There is no known bug. If you feel there is one, try other controllers and then confirm it with TN on their twitter account. Even if such a bug existed, there's nothing we can do about it.

Not everyone can invest in these. Dpads are still better than the stick issues. Once you know you like something enough to invest in a dedicated controller, then you do it.

I never said it was a bug.... I said it was inconsistent across different moves and different characters, for all i know Team Ninja probably did that deliberately.
I'm using a 360 Controller, Dpad is certainly not an option........

Will they change it ? Highly Unlikely.... at the very least I wana know why its so hard to do in the first place.

Do you know of any controller with good D-pad? Genuine question here.

Define "good." It's like asking me about what brands make good knives. If you value pristine looking and feeling blades, Kershaw. If you like good customer support, ability to open your knife many ways, move your clip, etc, go Spyderco (not to say that Kershaw doesn't have those things, but spyderco has more of my business and i have more experience with them). Is it the feel of the D-Pad? Is it the location of the D-Pad? Does the latency matter more? A controller is a tool, and each tool has strengths and weaknesses, and even some of those are tradeoffs (for example, the shape of a dpad as well as the location could affect the latency).

You mean the smaller Xbox Controller S or the original big one? If you mean the S one... yeah that's the only one I can think of too lol, but I couldn't even find an USB converter for it on internet.

I've been using this for a while, until i ran into the stick issues that bothered me. Still use for skyrim and AC. However, it's for the PS3. Either the internal gyro is missing or it was broke on the shelf.

Dude, no, some D-pads are simply made cheap and terrible with no "strengths" in any way (see the standard Xbox 360 controller one as a blatant example). "Cheap and terrible" has been my experience with all the D-pad gamepads I tried except for one, thus my question.

That's because the only genre that needs good DPads are fighting games and RPGs. All other games usually use them for overriding the camera or as a second set of of the buttons like on the right (such as how FPS use them for weapons switching). I think the DPad is kept at it's location because sony doesn't like to change. Since fighting games are a pretty niche genre (where people buy specialized controllers, anyway) compared to the others (thanks to the learning curves) i highly doubt this is ever going to change.
