Lol, seems no one here cares for World of Fantasy either... XD

Okay then let's get back to the real stuff! :D
Here's a little documentary about Final Fantasy XV with a glimpse behind the scenes of it's development:

A very interesting part was the one regarding the English...or should I rather say American localisation... Now we know why it is partly very different to the original Japanese one. Sometimes to the extent of not making much sense anymore, as we noticed several times in the last couple of months. This is because the translator purposely doesn't translate the game as close to the original script as possible. They think North Americans might not get Japanese culture and customs. The relationship of Noctis and his father was taken as an example. Apparently it would feel much too cold and distant to Americans and so they are completely changing the script.
This is such BS! D: We all know that JRPGs are Japanese. That is what the J stands for. We like JRPGs because they have a different way of handling things, like storytelling, character interactions and character development.
I feel bad for native English speakers (especially the ones not from North America). You can't even play it in Japanese and with English subtitles because the English subtitles will be the exact same as the English dub, telling you in part very different things than what is actually said in Japanese.
Come on, in the anime it worked too, right? I actually enjoyed the characters so much better there than in the game...
I'm just glad I can go with the German translation in which they decided to stay as close to the original script as possible, just as the French version. We'll also have a female Cidney instead of this annoying redneck Cindy. No offense to rednecks and Cindys! :p

Lol poor World Of Final Fantasy! XD

But yeah that is bs that they've changed the script! It means we aren't going to be getting what actually happens, I don't know why they wouldn't just stick to the script? And yeah the characters were likeable in the anime. lol though I think Cindy's voice is great I love southern accents I wouldn't call her a redneck though. XD

They do this in the hopes of attracting a wider audience. Also people who are not familiar with Japanese games and anime. That's why they practically purge the English version of everything Japanese. x__X

I really hate that practice and I thought that was a thing of the past. When they exchanged amazing Japanese openings of the Tales of games with bland English or nor lyrics ones or when they pretended that Ace Attorny was set in America instead of Japan. Here's a cool parody of this:

Yeah I thought people were getting past that too but I guess not, I remember in Pokemon them talking about Hamburgers while eating what was obviously rice. Oh well If the English is really off script I'll look up what the characters actually meant.

How will you be able to look up every conversation of the game later? ;)
I think there should be a European English version too. (Do you guys actually still want to be referred to as Europeans? ;__; ) Let the Americans have their 'Murican Final Fantasy but leave the rest of the world out of it. ;)

The Tales of games now actually embrace their Japaneseness and have started to keep their Japanese openings. On EGX their marketing guys was talking about this. They have realized that this is what the fans of the series around the world want.

Lol I'll find some kind of way to check the conversations, And I'm pretty sure regardless of If we wanted to or not we'd be Europeans since we're in Europe but yes I still want to be called European. :) But yeah a European english version would have been pretty good.

To be honest, they had to make PW characters American to keep the punny names thing intact.
Ryuichi Naruhodo is a punny name about Dragons and going "Oh, I see now!".
If they kept it the same, we non-Japanese speakers wouldn't be able to get the pun in the name.
Capcom decided to localize the names so we could get a feeling that would be closer to the original.
Example, Mitsurugi -> Edgeworth.
Unless you know some Japanese, you won't understand that Edgeworth's name is a reference to his deep cutting wit and words!

The compromise is setting the games in America. It feels less weird when there are no super Japanese things involved, but then you wonder how is Kurain near Los Angeles.
However, would it be as weird as a whole cast of characters with english names living in Tokyo??

Still, I think it's far from a bad localization and far from a big loss.
The first game had an especially good localization, too.

/off topic

An European English dub like Xenoblade would spit in Ignis' silly british accent!

This! So much this! :) Xenoblade Chronicles' British dub was so well done. It's sometimes a good thing that Europeans get games first and do the dub instead of Americans.

World of Final Fantasy got it's first rating!

Overal score: 8,25

Sound:
I was happy to hear the returning characters' voice actors reprise their roles. The new versions of old musical themes are also great.

Playability:
Exploration and combat work fine, but sitting through multiple screens to compare monster abilities and see their effects on your stack is a hassle.

Story:
The story is awful, but the fun of collecting monsters, - along with a flood of fan service - makes that narrative worth enduring.

Replay Value:
Moderate

Not bad... but, lol, I knew the story was going to be rubbish... ;D

So the question is is it worth getting for all the fun gameplay and fanservice If it has a crap story? I might get it but I'm not sure even yet.

Wow...

I've played a ton of games with crap stories and fun gameplay and the answer is yes imo

I'll probably pick this up on sale like FFXV tho

Same tbh there's plenty of games that I've not got into storywise but they've had great gameplay so I've liked them anyway I'm just really un sure about this game. I might get it if I see it on sale.

When are you done disrespecting FFXV like that? D: FFXV and WoFF ("this") don't even belong in the same sentence (even though I had to put them both in a sentence now, sorry). And FFXV certainly does not get picked up on a sale. >__<

I want to crash it into something.

You can probably crash it into a lot of invisible walls. XD There is no way the Regalia will be able to fly all over to Insomnia (which you can see in the background of the second image).

thats some cringe worthy fanboyism coming from Tyaren now.

i honestly would have picked up WoFF if it wasn't for the dumb looking stack mechanic. that probably lost them a lot of sales for no good reason.

Duh! XD The post was meant to sound cringe worthy. If it was a serious post, I wouldn't be using silly gifs like that. They don't really make a post more credible.
I also wouldn't criticize the game in the same post for it's invisible walls, which are not good game design. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt they will let us fly everywhere the way the game world is build.

By the way do you guys realize that we are now as far away from release as we were when they announced the delay? So, If there's another delay, they should better tell us now. :(

I'm literally on the waiting list for the ultimate collector's edition, however I simply just want to play the game to be quite truthful. I may cancel my order and just go for the default copy.

Waiting list? So you will only get one if someone else backs out? If you eventually get the UCE I am willing to pay you 30$ for the art book. But I already told you that.
