Tyaren, why you gotta insult Noctis? >_< The game looks great so far, I like the change of atmosphere and lighting in certain areas and weather conditions.

That's actually the best Adamantoise so far. Wasn't expecting that one. Personally I will buy XV because it's a new FF main mothership title so I say why not. What I'm purely interested in is the story, combat, and being a completionist for post-game content because I'm a hardcore fanatic to test oneself against superbosses+cameos, finding builds for characters, performing hard things and so on. We can't say that the story won't be great...I mean the game is not even out yet to truly judge it this early. I was skeptical with how the story might play out with typical directions but I like being surprised so who knows.

What I'm "really" waiting for is Dissidia, but I've also been waiting for a new FF main title too. FFXV has been in the talks for quite a number of years now (Literally since the beginning of PS3 days console release) and even had a title change, it was about time they started working on it so I've been waiting for it as well.

No. XD Today is the first of August and Final Fantasy XV releases in September, which is next month...even if at the very end of the month. ;)

Lol, I'm getting desperate. But 10 years of waiting are almost over. >o<

Its amazing just how much better the graphics have gotten over time, it will be interesting to see how they will be doing the over world of the VII remake!

They might make it like XV open world. I hope they do definitely but I'm not sure since it took so long for this game to come out.

I have to say I love open worlds. I know it's not fit for every type of game and there are also people who dislke them (crazy they are! XD) but only they manage to fully immerse me. An RPG world without would feel off by now for me.

I love open worlds as well so I hope there is one in the new VII. It seems like at least Midgar will be an open world but who knows about the open land. Also from what people have been saying it might be separate games or something.

That's for sure! The original game will likely be split into three games this time. This probably goes against an open world...or you would have to split it up and then it isn't open anymore. XD

Open world games are the end of me. I can only do the main quest so long as EVERY side quest in that particular area is done. If I happen to stumble upon a main quest again, ABORT-ABORT-ABORT.
Reason #1 I still haven't beaten Skyrim, GTA5, or Witcher 3.

Don't get me wrong, I love them but there is always too much for me to do at once. I should love it with XV.

Each part of the remake will be its own game. That means it can be open world, plus there will be a world map lol

The first game is already confirmed to have new areas you can explore in Midgar which was SUPER linear in OG VII

Lol, that sounds compulsive. You should maybe get that checked. XD
You really shouldn't let side stuff ruin the most important part of the games for you. Usually side quests don't run away. Well, not all of them. I hate timed quests that suddenly end up as failed quests in my log.
But who am I to talk? XD I felt similarly with Skyrim and GTA5. I never finished them either. Not because all the side questing exhausted me but because 1) the world was too big and free from the get go (and I love exploring every nook and cranny) and 2) because the actual main stories just didn't grab my attention and interest.
A good thing for us both is that Final Fantasy XV is described by it's developers as not a fully open-world game. You will be guided on a set path through the story and the world. In that regard it is still pretty linear...it's just that the paths you progress on are also very wide. But you will automatically end at the next story progression point. Also, there won't be as many points of interest and quest givers in FFXV's world off the beaten path. The world is simultaneuously several sizes bigger than Skyrim or The Witcher 3 though. Tabata said he explicitly wanted to have some spaces inbetween that are just wide and empty. Like actual wilderness is. He thought it adds to the atmosphere of the group being all on their own, having a long journey and then experiencing the thrill of finally stumbling back into civilisation again. It sounds good on paper. Lets see how this will actually turn out. It is definitely a pretty different approach to the Witcher 3 or Skyrim.
