So it seems the story can take very tragic twists, reading Tyaren' spoilers. I hope they are handled well, lately a lot of sad scenes in games I played felt forced.
This game has the potential to be better than I expected.
Still, @Tyaren , what is a JRPG without party quarrels? XD
I'm actually quite confident that the stoy is going to be comparatively interesting and engaging, also the most important characters. Many recent JRPGs didn't set the best examples... The last great JRPG story and character development that I played was Xenoblade Chronicles (the original on the Wii). And even that had it's flaws... What FFXIII and it's sequels brought to the table was imo a complete waste of time. What a convoluted mess.
I do like a bit of drama and tragic twists...Hajime Tabata is well known for these and Kingsglaive already was a good start in this regard but I hope he won't overdo it. I don't want to literally play Hamlet or Romeo and Juliet...which are inspirations for the story. Please no cry-fest, Tabata.
