Don't buy it.
Reverse psychology I see. Or maybe you think this will turn out like TW3 (a possibility)
Think of all the naughty Gladio thirst pics you could take for just $40 XD This opportunity won't last long Chap
I'll spend $5 at the most if I'm getting a game purely for mancandy. I still haven't gotten Outlast and that game has actual dicks in it

The biggest reasons I'm cautious are how people have been saying most of the enjoyment in this game is in the first half and so much has been cut from the final product but $40 is a decent price this close to release and that sale will end after the holidays );

XV is already down to $40 and I have $70 to spare, should I buy it?

giphy.gif

Definitely! Especially since your a fan of the series already! The second half isn't as open but its still really fun. ( at least to me though I also found TW3 fun while you didn't seem to so who knows. )

Edit: I guess it also depends on if you wouldn't mind waiting on a sale in the future regardless of how long away it is but when you were playing X-2 you seem to like the levelling up and all the side content stuff and there's lots of good stuff with that in this game.

Don't buy it.

... Wait ... What lol at first I couldn't tell if you were serious or not.

Regarding if FFXV is worth the money:
It is a complete game and it actually is a huge game with lots of content. (I've got the game guide with almost 400 pages of stuff to do. ;)) It was worth it's initial price and is more than worth 40$.
However, if you've followed the long, hellish development process and if you expect to see all the stuff that they showed in trailers or that they promised in interviews over the years, you are going to be bitterly disappointed. Like I was.
When you hear me complaining about the game not being finished, it is all the stuff that they promised us and that they cut that I mean. Not that the game isn't functional as a whole. It definitely is. It is an objectively good game.
The abundant post game content did appease me after finishing the lacklustre main campaign. Just one example: There are 12 unique dungeons in the game with cool end bosses and in some cases there are dungeons hidden within the dungeons. You just visit 4 of the 12+ dungeons in the main campaign...
Since you didn't care much and don't know much about the game and it's development, you will be perfectly fine. You will scratch your head about the story a lot though. Not that it is a convoluted mess, like other FFs, but Tabata seriously sucks at telling a story, even if it is as straight forward as this one.

$40 is a steal. I'd get it just to get it out the way. You can purchase the season pass after for the DLC and it'll be "now" worth $60. Temporarily at least. It's a good game, just not what people expected in terms of length and initial direction.

Explain. I'll give you XIII-2, Lightning Returns, as well as Mobius but that's about it.

But yes, this is why Nomura is always the picked guy.

I love when games having a lot of post-game content, that was one thing that annoyed me about sun/moon especially compared to ORAS. And I didn't follow the development too much or watch many trailers so there's less to be disappointed by.

Well I'll probably get it, maybe tonight depending on the roads since we got some snow and ice here today

Yeah I was surprised by how little post game Sun had though it was still enjoyable. I think you'll be happy with XV's though and just the whole game in general because I know I'm new to the series but I thought XV was amazing! :)

(I assume it's now safe to not use spoiler tags when mentioning guest party members)

Awesome DLC news : apparently the FFXV Ultimania (in addition to giving more information on lore/certain characters) states that Cor Leonis, Iris Amicitia and Aranea Highwind are confirmed to be playable characters in the multiplayer DLC. They're considering adding Lunafreya as well.
I really hope they'll be playable "offline" too xD

Let's celebrate with a cool Iris gif!!!

@Awesmic Are we expecting more Dissidia on the same week as KH releases? I heard NicoNico doing a stream that month.

Ask me more nicely and I even might. ;)

Unfortunately I cannot, I am far too blunt on such matters and takes me 5 levels to crack to say please since it's not something of a necessity lol.

There has to be some sort of data for these characters to have availability to be used in a game. Example, Aranea, Cor, Iris already have data within the game that allows access to be playable with a bit of tinkering from Square's end. Lunafreya is in the game but there is no character build as of now, so she's unknown as well as Gentiana.

However, my hunch is that she might not be a possibility. You can be hopeful but not too hopeful.

Wait, this game is going to have multiplayer? I think part of the reason I'm enjoying this FF so much is that I didn't really follow it because I never expected it to come out anyway.

I had really hyped Twilight Princess, but that game took so long to come out I just lost it -- and to me it was one of the worst games in the series because of how long I waited. It hurt the game for me.

Lunafreya doesn't even have combat animations either. I mean, if they really took the time they probably can, It's pretty doubtful though.

They probably won't , I don't think her and gentiana's attire would fit it either, hair and cloth would be clipping like crazy xD

you could buy World of Final Fantasy instead and get a Final Fantasy game with a better plot that actually feels like a Final Fantasy game instead
View attachment 22321

Or you could buy FFXV afterall and have a main cast of characters that you actually come to really like and care for instead of wanting to kill them with fire each time they open their goddamned mouths. >__<

And you can experience something like this...

I hope Chappy's phone can handle this gif. XD
