Not sure how to deal with a mirror match, I try to go with punishing opponents whiffs but he/she just rushes me down, what do I do?

Try to adept their moves and memorize their favorite (combos)pattern. Go wild on offense but don't mash buttons and go retarded lol be clever & use different strategies.
