Holding Tips?

When fighting against larger/smaller characters how do you measure what's high or mid? It always looks like they're all headshots or body blows to me. I'm sure I'm not the only person who is having problems in this area.

You have to figure that out in training. What ever character is giving you trouble, select them in training, go through their command training to find the moves that are giving you trouble, go back to regular training mode, do the moves while 'move details' are on, and you will be able to see the hit levels of the attacks.

I was hoping there was something systematic to look for. Sounds like I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow, lots of Eliot

q~q don't get mad at me...

Eliot is mid heavy. That's all I can tell you, and it's hard to get away from that. He will hit you, but if you can find the mids in training mode, trust me you'll be fine. I know Eliot is "top tier" but that's only because of his easy button parries and his 9frame jab, couple with a high damage output. As you saw, I didn't need flashy juggles to be a competitor, but i'm gunna work on those anyway, because eventually I will.

I don't really worry about tiers. For some reason I always end up liking characters considered low tier, but I hold my own. I couldn't tell whether Eliot was doing lows or mids when we played, it let me know that I don't guard or hold lows enough. Lesson learned.

I don't care about tier's either, I've played Eliot since DOA4 when he was terrible. Even then he was fun though.

I did use a lot of lows in that fight, especially the 2p's that I spammed to bait you to attack, and Eliot's Bokuho. It seemed your defense was weakest there, so I'd sit and see if you'd crouch guard, but you hardly did. Once you get that down, you'll piss people off easily :D. Keep improving, you're getting there.
