damn after seeing those latest videos I wouldn't be surprised if the character worse than lisa that dogg claimed in the games latest build is kasumi. she does piddly ass damage from what i see, those little love taps shes pulling off ain't doing shit and that one throw she does that kicks them in the air takes off a milimeter of life bar. she needs more than just speed because characters like jann lee, sarah, rig etc look just as fast and do more damage while having far better pressure tools. add in the new sidestepping and makes it even easier to avoid her bs

I'll apologise in advance for this but if she sucks I will be relieved. Online is going to flooded with her, add on her new shiny/flashy animations and even more players are going to flock to her as ninja's are always popular and the flashier the better for most people.

If I am going to have to deal with her every other match then I would prefer her not to be too good. Kasumi's player base is HUGE, I'd rather not add all the Tier Whore players to her already bloated player base. I feel the same way about Busa, I'm going to have to deal with him all the time anyway so I'd prefer him not to be god tier again.

This isn't an argument for balance obviously, and I get that all characters should be good but if someone has to be somewhat worse I would prefer it to be the character whom I'm going to have to deal with every five minutes, and is going to win the majority of their matches with obnoxious online bullshit. Although I doubt she will be anywhere close to sucking.

I say take away her lag abusive tools and make her an all around more solid character, but that isn't going to happen.

After going back and re-watching those videos, I gotta say I kinda agree with you. The ONLY damaging thing that I've seen Kasumi do is her slice grab on HCT which did a SHIT load of damage, other than that though I haven't seen her do something pretty spectacular. Maybe there's some combos or setups people haven't really tried with her, that I personally really want to try haha.

But you played Helena... lol

Kasumi was only hard to deal with online, and people will play her because she's Kasumi anyway.

Characters shouldn't be bad just so others can keep up; the characters that can't keep up should just be better. Every character should have been as capable as 'Busa in 4.

Yeah I play Helena, I've never found her to be anything special when it comes to abusing lag, outside of having problems punishing her transitions into Bokuho. Maybe 9P2K is hard to catch but every character has got something like that.

In my defence though I very rarely use lows when I play, not because I'm afraid of abusing lag, but because I'm too afraid of people bitch countering lol

Didn't I play you recently? Your tag looks familiar.

She's top tier though.

I think we played once the other day.

Yeah she is top tier but at least she isn't used that often. There is always going to be top tier characters but I would prefer them to be characters people don't play that often so there is more diversity of characters played. Imagine if Kasumi was as good a Busa in DOA4? Although when you factored in lag she probably was lol

Not sure where to ask this but here I go:

Can someone help me with Eliot's juggle?

My explanation is kinda lengthy so I responded to this in a conversation, as to not derail this thread.

Edit: So Eliot's 9 frame punch is :7: :P:. I wonder if he still has his sabaki?

been awhile since i played him but i remember there was an alternate way of doing it in doa4 where he isn't required to be in full crouch. instead of trying to buffer :3_::P:. use :6::6::~::3::P: the move comes out much faster bypassing the "while crouching" state which is how people are able to pull it off in juggles. from the looks of it this move will be essential for any eliot player in 5 compared to 4 since the re-floating properties of it are much better as is his juggle damage output

Thanks a bunch man that helped a lot! While I was trying it out I found an easier way to do it, :6::2::3::P:

TFBB out of a dash is very silly, considering how inaccessible it was in 4/Dimen.
