Is it normal for the AI to kick the crap out of me?

Yes if you tried to combo them too much especially smashing. They will counter most of those attack but it's nothing compare to Legend. Like all AI in fighting games, they are stupid no matter how hard they look.

Legend setting is totally BS.
The AI never counters unless you press a button, which means you can never "bait" a hold. And of course they always counter correctly. Whoever designed this AI needs to seriously have his/her brain examined.

The AI cheats, but it cant read running attacks, charge moves, powerblows, and jumping attacks very well.

Playing legendary mode is like playing a game of rock. No paper or scissors because the computer never holds unless its going to connect and 70% of your strikes get countered. So you can either hope to out counter them(good luck), or do what I do and omega turtle to whiff punish.

LOL, this is what I used to beat Legend. That move will work but not at close distance. Stay away and use it after they start an attack or else they'll sidestep and beat you up. But there is one problems, it will not work against Akira, he will always block it. At least most of the time. trust me, I tried it and lost many times.

I've beaten Legend with several characters already. But I hate how the AI is designed. It's just terrible, and reminds me of those old MK AIs. If it wasn't for those swimsuits I won't even be trying.
Imagine if in Tekken the AI did max damage punish after blocking every move you do, or in Soul Caliber all of your attacks get repelled. Those don't make for fun gameplay, and neither does the current DOA AI.

Yeah, so anyone know a good way to practice grapple characters? I'm trying to practice bass, but you can't bait holds from the AI, and that makes it really hard to practice. Any suggestions?

I just got Tinas and Christies so far. I just need Lisas..... AND HOW THE HELL DO YOU GET PAST THE SURVIVAL COURSES!!!
