First off, if this is already under discussion in another thread my apologies. Please lock this and redirect as necessary.
I've noticed that since the PC version was confirmed there have been no details relating to it's source code. TN mentioned that they would talking about the Steam version "soon" a few weeks ago but there's been no word as of yet. The fact that they need to talk about it specifically at all is already a red flag considering it's already established that the online would be patched in within 3 months. Another red flag was that the trailer on the steam page is actually the trailer for Ultimate with a Last Round logo replacement at the end.
Now I fear it's previous gen source code could be all but confirmed. On the official LR website I've noticed that all the new features, such as the hairstyles and the new stages state that they are included in the PS4/Xbox One versions only. If this is the case I'd be really disappointed that they would take this route considering the PC holds the potential to run LR without a hitch and without needing a monster rig when you consider the common graphical options provided to players. As a hardcore DOA player since the Saturn/PS1 days I've always supported the series and pre-ordered both the Steam and PS4 versions. I'm sure I'll still love the gameplay but am now left wondering if I'll regret pre-ordering both as I'm left with an inferior version to collect digital dust.
