That's DOA bruh

Here's the bracket with video links

Prelim bracket:

Personal notes:
-Most used characters were Kasumi, Ayane, Kokoro, and... Brad. 4 players each.
-Characters no one used: Mila, Zack, Eliot, Genfu

I don't recall there being many Brads in the last JP tourney, so that was funny to me. Another twist is the decline in Leifang players, they were common last time but now just one. And no Mila this time either, hardly surprising though

Also Christie vs Christie finals...

If that is the best they've got then I think it's fair to say that us western players are definitely better at the game.

Careful, Haipa thinks Japanese gamers are gods among all fighting game players and that no one can beat them because ya know, arcades.

He was fun to play against when I was in Japan. He did a few interesting mixups I never saw chosen1 utilize.

He runs the weekly Japanese stream as well.

Interesting. How was your overall experience when getting some games vs. JPN i.e. spacing, movement, combos, etc?

Let's followup on that. About this very foreign concept to you (however native to actual experienced competitive players) about this "arcades". - @ 21:32 - 22:08.(JPN ver.) or 22:19 - 23:12 (U.S. ver) - http://www.hulu.com/watch/513254

I lived in Japan for two years. The concept of arcades is far from foreign to me. Having arcades around doesn't make the Japanese gods among fighting gamers. They have good players and they have bad players just like everywhere else.

Look. This is a competitive (not casual) themed website/forum about becoming and being a good player at the least. Every competitive player from various fighting games has stated that when they went to JPN, there are a lot more good players as well as more variety of character plays. What I did and do state is that good JPN players generally are the best at optimization i.e. yomi, full punishes, not dropping combos.
With JPN Arcade DOA5U release due later this year, the true regional style comparisons of global competition will begin and in the process hopefully grow and/or inspire this and other Dead or Alive communities. 3D fighting games in general here in NA are in trouble as even Tekken is currently rapidly declining in popularity. Overall more than likely 2014 The Fall Classic tournament will settle this.
