Just exactly how does the global online lag simulation work?

I want to know
A) how do I increase the severity of the latency and
B) can I make it random.

I ask this because It maybe useful to practice execution outside of training mode against the AI and help me adapt to lag spikes.

None of these jerks responded. I'd like to know what it's even for. I increase the severity of it and it seems the same, no matter what level I put it on.

It's input delay. It's a few frames of input delay. It won't give you spikes but it'll make reacting to mixups a lot harder 'cause that 2-3f extra input delay is gonna make it so that you have to do something earlier than you should.

What StrikerSashi said.

It's closer to about 100ms per level of severity (6 frames) of additional wait time, aka lag. 2-3 frames isn't really noticeable. It's what you would experience in a smooth connection of a specific quality (1-5 bars) with no changes during the session.

If you are an online warrior you will hardly notice anything because you are so used to it. Get to offline stuff/no delay after only playing online and you start screwing up combos because you only know how to press things too far in advance (been there, improved on that).

I still remember somebody I played offline trying to escape a Mila Takedown by pressing buttons a whole second in advance of the combo throw window and Mr. Wah made a comment about how we weren't online.
