Having messed more time around with the lobby matches, a connection bar will appear on the left side of each player in the lobby room. It will also appear before the character screen appears.

I thought that might happen since it does that in persona 4, where you have to wait for the connection bar to appear. Look back in rank to see if it does it there too.
Also how were matches after finally knowing your opponent's connection?

rank match has the same layout as simple match, the only difference you could is adjust quality of opponent. Once you search and get an opponent, you're immediately sent to the character select screen. Couldn't locate a connection bar anywhere
Depending on lag, I had to adjust to each player's strategy and fight style. Had to turtle in more laggy matches than in ones that ran smooth.

It better be Donovan, and he BETTER be playable. I've been wanting to see this character and play him since DoA3. And in Dimensions he was seen putting on Genra's mask.

I'd be hella salty if the final boss was Alpha-12bucklemyshoe again. :(

Nope, haven't got that far yet. Have been playing mostly online and training mode the entire day. I'll let you know when i get around to that.

Some people won't be happy about the similar outfits taking up seperate slots.
forreal that's fuckin' dumb. I would have thought they'd have implemented something ingenius like choosing a costume by pressing up / down, then changing costume color / preset accessories with left / right on the chosen costume.

I guess I shouldn't have thought Team Ninja would do something intelligent that would somehow represent DOA not being stuck in the past. This game would have been really impressive if it came out before Tekken 6.

It could just be that that specific animation has a reference to reset to a certain frame in her idle animation to make it look natural, but he held down block instead so it looked like she teleported.

So Zack gets knocked out and doesn't get back up, but a drunk guy can lol

Edit, yeah that is weird she comes from the ceiling. Itagaki should of never left.

Either way they gotta fix it. Jann Lee's idle stance has him dancing all around the stage on the tips of his toes all the while changing between back-facing-camera and front-facing-camera stances, and his animations never broke.
