Looks like the game is available at select retailers.

I unlocked those characters, mila, jann lee and hitomi so far all today. Each took around 25-30 min to complete for each character even by unlocking each and every costume on rookie from easy level. I guess i'll do lisa next. Don't know who else to complete after her. Also still need to discover more about the lobby match mode, photo/album and replays, but i'll probably do that tomorrow.
Zack only has 4 costumes...well technically 3? Did you unlock all of his costumes?

Yes tested out to see if he has any other available costumes, but it stopped at 4.
Does the game tell you if you unlock all a characters costumes?
Nope. The only way to find out is by doing another arcade, survival, or time attack mode with a different difficulty and see if there is another costume available.
Also minor bug (probably be patched soon): Everything in the options menu is saved except for the japanese/english voices. I always have to switch to japanese every time i turn on my xbox since it keeps getting sent back to english.
Fuh... 10 min currently waiting for a rank match

So, a game that may arguably be the best, most competitive DOA we've had in years, and Stikku hates it because of costume selection. What is this DOAW? Eventhubs? TKPlayers?

Wish I could say I felt bad for you, too busy envying you.
Lol no worries I understand. Lucky for me that a store near got the game a week before release date. First game I bought before release date. The only reason i'm trying to get a rank match started is to find the option where you could save replays and take photos. I couldn't find it in simple match. Also in post fight for simple match, there's a 20 second countdown that gives you options:
Start match, Change character, other settings, register opponents name (There are 2-3 things missing in that list) I'll update it once I get a match going.

Completely wrong! Gamefaqs.

Also because of the lack of Leon and Ein I believe.

I have a love relationship with the series. DOA5 just seems to be bringing out the worst in me, considering it's not bringing anything new to the table and is missing characters, all the while trying super hard to cater to the Virtua Fighter characters.

I've mentioned plenty of positive things, by the way. Here's a snippet of the most recent positive thing i've said:

If you don't think that's a good idea well then you're just a goof. The rest of the post isn't necessarily explicitly positive, but it sure as hell ain't a lie. Constructive Criticism.
I completely get what you're saying... DOA5 does have a couple of things that they stepped back from and didn't give heed to expectations, but that is what happens when you get different Producers over the project. However, the game is still good even though it lacked things that should be there. This is just my opinion but I see this every time, Producers tend to make a game that's missing content just so the next version would look much more attractive to buy. DOAD was an obvious experiment to create another fan base, and DOA5 feels like they are focusing more on the competitive crowd than the casual crowd. It's still a good game, but it doesn't deserve a 9/10 though more like 8/10 because its predecessors still offer stuff it's missing and it's not just characters either. Announcements are not done, I'm still waiting to see what Teamninja is going to announce at Launch.

Less than a half of the players I encountered were currently reviewing the game which was pretty cool to experience.
Awesome! Any popular reviewers?

The thing you are forgetting is that we are on the age of DLC. Most companies will probably just make tons of DLC content to add up to the game. DOA3 had the booster pack which kinda was DLC for the game and now on this day and age making dlc should be easier way to provide extra content that its not that important to the core game (Maybe also some important things like more characters depending the company)

Overall we dont know how TN will handle the DLC of the game and what surprises might be around the corner. As mentioned before DOA5 is more competitive focused this time while still having some stuff to appeal casual fans. The gameplay does not seem butchered like DOA4 or Dimensions and tons of improvements over it to be considered a good enough game. I'll just say wait till you have the game in your hands to actually give final judgement or simply wait for confirmations of any doubts after release. Judging by watching aint the same as judging by playing.

1. Nerfed counters
2. More guaranteed damage
3. 2 new characters
4. Better sidesteps (which should buff the neutral game)
5. Critical Burst
6. Limited comeback mechanic (Power Blows)
7. More dynamic stage interaction

That's at least 7 new things that I can off the top of my head alone.

So man, they sold out on Zack lol, I guess this time he doesn't have his space alien costume. I was actually hoping his DJ costume would return, but something tells me the space alien costume is going to be DLC. He had better costumes on Dead or Alive 4.

I've put him on ignore when I realized he was just trolling. Makes my reading experience a lot more pleasant.
