Mass Effect 3

Ransuu, Rikuto and anyone else who ever had a love for the ME series.

We need articulate people who can correctly convey the issues with the Mass Effect 3 ending to Bioware. Too many of them think our problem is that Shepard is dead - Shepard dying would have been fine.

The problems are so many its ridiculous.

A) During the final flash back I saw Liara. . .what about my acutal love interest? What about Garrus who's been with me through the entire saga?

B) How did my squad members avoid the Reaper Beam that cooked Shepard and everyone else around him? I'm sure there is a logical answer to this, show it to me.

C) You're on the planet. . .how about showing human/alien/synthetic advancement through the years?

D) No acknowledgment of Shepard sacrifice? No one is sad about this? Me and Garrus were supposed to go whoring after we kicked the reapers ass - no sport fucking in honor of the Commander?

In retrospect the "Control" and "Synthesis" endings were ok (save for the above issues), the Destroy ending made no sense because if in fact that was Shep under the rubble. . .how is he even alive? He was in outter space, the beam knocked out all Mass Effect fields in the galaxy. . .if its not Shepard then fine but if it is then it makes no sense.

If there were more endings than me, personally, would have been mostly satisfied with the Synthesis ending and wouldn't have complained but to know that we all ended up in the same place and none of the sacrifices I made meant a damn is whats really baking my noodle.

Oh and there was a MASSIVE glitch before the final mission began.

Tali returned. . .SHE DIED IN MY GAME but here she is standing in my quarters, screwing my brains out and reassuring me that everything is going to be alright after the last "Nightmare". Not a dream, not an apparition - its real, live, flesh and blood Tali Vas'Normandy- glitch.

We will not allow this to stand!

Because as good as this piece of musical composition is. . .

It cannot replace the multiple endings we were promised. Not by a long shot.

I don't have a problem with them killing Sheppard. I get it, its the final game in the series and they felt he needed to die. I personally don't think he needed to die as there are several ways they could of brought closure to the game without killing him, but I certainly don't have an issue with it. My issue was simply how he died and how piss poor the ending was handled. The game builds up with this epic moment and the game just...ends... No explanation of earth, no explanation of all your companions, what happened to all the races that gathered together in a massive fleet to help fight the reapers? Who the hells is the old man with the kid? And the way the reapers were dealt with was just really lame.

@Relius

I don't think that Tali thing is a glitch. ME2 did the same thing after you beat the game if you lost any members. After you beat the game its technically a "free play" type thing for DLC and such and they just give you all your members back.

This happened before the end of the game. I talked to some other people who had Tali as their love interest and the same thing happened. If its not a glitch and it was some kind of a dream they certainly didn't explain it.

A lot of players are going by the current theory that the final decision, after getting hit by Harbringer's beam, that you are playing through the mind of Shepard in a hallucination or dream while Shepard was knocked unconscious from the beam. A lot of evidence is out there to point to this theory in the final moments. The hallucination is believed to be Shepard falling to indoctrination, choosing to merge or control would keep the Reavers alive as a metaphor to you being fully indoctrinated, where choosing to destroy is going against the indoctrination. Some even have proposed that the final choice areas are illuminated in blue and red to give "Paragon (good)" choice and "Renegade (rebel)" choice. The option to destroy is red, giving the metaphor that it's the 'wrong' choice - or the choice the Reapers don't want you to make.

It seems like the ending isn't actually the ending and I can believe that EA/Bioware will want to release the ending as DLC...

I've read about that whole theory and I don't really buy it personally. I think people are just trying to justify a bad ending with something else. I'd like to believe it, but fact is, the ending was just bad.

Sounds like they pulled an Evangelion.

But I'm not playing the game anymore until after the end of the month. /shrug

I want to believe as well and evidence that EA is out to nickle n' dime us is apparent in the multiplayer where you can buy new weapons with MS points till your credit card declines.

The Synthesis ending - again - was my ending, that was the ending that I felt I was working towards from the very beginning. If EA/Bioware can not give the others their "perfect" endings then give them 10 to 15 good minutes before Shepard makes the jump - grabs the handles or takes the shot - with his crew.

Let Liara SENSE whats happening and allow her to grab Shepards mind as well as the crew and allow them their last goodbyes.

I think thats all people really want. They want to speak with their friends from Mass Effect one last time, they want closure; they want that last fist bump with Garrus, one last sparing match with James, to ask Javik - knowing that he will no longer get the opportunity to visit his fallen - what he will do, what is Jacks final opinion on the shitty cusine on the Normandy, reassure Ashley that everything is going to be ok and that she now needs to be the Paragon that he was/wasn't.

Thats all it would take to placate the fans.

Any DLC that isn't new/expanded endings or upgrades for multiplayer will not be bought ( The upgrades for multi will get bought because there are a lot of casuals who play that mode and started playing that BEFORE the single player - trust me, I've met a couple dozen in the past few days.)

The horde mode is terrible to me. Pretty much if you have two high level Vanguards in your squad who know what they are doing you win - on Gold. . .probably gonna require everybody to be high level but for silver and bronze its nothing.

On Gold people are already realizing that you just need to fight the Geth and have a Lv 20 Quarian with sabotage maxed. The more the merrier for that.

God, the more I think about it the funnier this shit gets.

I can't believe they fucked us with that day one DLC AND the endings - so fucking stupid and even if they do patch in alternate endings. . .what about those people who don't have Xbox Live? Fuck em?

Bioware. . .another EA success story.
