Oohhh i've been out of town and didn't check back so gimme a minute to jump back on the rig design
i remember that tweet, that was about justin beiber lmao and she did get dragged for that tho.
to be honest, the reason rig gives off such strong urban fashion vibes is because he stereotypically meets the quota for a "thug" character (parts in hair, tattoos, his prison outfit, a villian) and honestly comparing his tan to the other male characters im really not sure if rig is white or bi-racial since we have no clue wtf victor donovan looks like. kinda makes me sad because zack who is actually black gets thrown around as a clown and so they created a character that could be passed off as "black" and not actually be "black" (i could rant for days about lisa's skintone being lightened) but then again if zack was villain i think there would be a lot more controversy so rig is created to fit that quota without stepping on anyones toes outright. i mean he still sexy but rig just gives an all around "punk" feel but lemme step off my social justice soap box and save that for tumblr.
rig's beanie is warn like a fashion accessory, Argentus is just very practical with clothes, like he said and the shoes look clunky because TN tried to match the outfits to the artist's artstyle and lemme tell ya, my shoes never really look regular (i drew kingdom hearts for years ok). the fashion trend of rig's hat is very common in the urban community and just in general i believe, examples:
the only issue i have with the in-game version is that his beanie doesn't seem big enough which could be my fault.
all in all, i'm an urban artist. all my designs flow similar to rig's costumes (his halloween costume was literally last minute put together i kid you not i didn't enter it til like the night before the deadline) and personally i believe it brings a certain dichotomy to the game that honestly doesn't exist in other (japanese made) games. i believe this true with eliot's outfit as well. it also brings a representation to the game as well (which is why i believe it was chosen over the other winning rig costume). Again i could go on about that but then i might as well write the marketing report ive been procrastinating on for a week.

this post is utterly pointless now that i wrote all that but im gonna go ahead and send it since i put effort into it.
Beanies being pulled back is a recent-ish fashion trend so I think it fits.

Rig works outside on an oil rig all day plus darker skin tones are seen as more masculine while lighter tones are seen as more feminine so I think that explains his skin color. Eliot's the only pale male character and it's probably because he's meant to be more feminine (and he's English lol).
Interesting, that you speak of that. When I was recently examining Rig's facial features, I also wondered, if TN intended him to be of mixed ethnicity.
But Rig's skin is, even though tanned, too light...

And then his eye color...he's probably meant to be of "Fantasian ethnicity".

im reaching here, but i think he is of korean decent if you look at his eye shape.
or er mixed with korean which would explain why he uses taekwondo to fight. i mean it makes sense since DoA is not shy from bi-racial characters (kokoro, hitomi)
but i digress, that's for another thread another time.

So, do you guys think that Raidou and Honoka will get debut costume packs? I can see it happening for Honoka but idk for Raidou.
I think Honoka would get the same 3/5 costumes as what all the other dlc girls got which would be
1.Nurse
2.Christmas
3.Cheerleader
Didn't include Gym since that is already with her and the 5th is different per girl so I think the other 2 would be
4.Maid or Bunny
5.Idol (this because of how she is inspired by Honoka from Love Live)

Probably TN didn't put so much work in his face because they didn't have planned to reveal it. Just look how much time it takes to have a costume with his face exposed, even in the swimsuit for the guys he still have the mask.

Enough joking, back on topic:
Seeing how many costumes Raidou got (one, and variations of it), I predict only a black Santa outfit or maybe some other holiday themed outfit (if they go with Halloween again, for example).
Unless LR is revolutionary with costumes and starts having equal distibution, I don't expect much difference from Ultimate's marketing, especially after seeing the preorder bikinis. As I said before my most hopeful wishes are for other contest outfits to be made DLC!

Speaking of costumes. I wish they add her 2P VF4 Outfit and the rest of the VF5 outifts for the VF characters. Jacky has his E Costume but no B Costume while the other VF characters have their B Costumes but no E Costume.
Also has anyone seen the trophy list? I am having a hard time finding the list with Google. I've seen a couple of trophies unlock via streams. I know the list is very similar to the past versions.
