Hey everyone I hope this is the right place to post. I'm new to these fourms and DOA5 will be the first game of the series where i try to take the game serious. I played DOA4 but that was before i started to really get into fighting games and play them (or try to) at a high ish level. I was hoping to get some advice and really introduce myself and such :). So in other fighters i play rushdown type characters I main Ibuki in street fighter but i'm not sure who to try in DOA5 so far i've been playing Hitomi offline, could anyone recommend me a character to try who has easy access to learning DOA with some decent capabilties maybe even similar to ibuki from SF ?

Also whats the best way to go about learning about DOA? such as the grapple system i only really get the counters when im randomly guessing and get it right whats the best way to read and which are the most common / easiest to get down. With blocking is it just simply holding away?

Thanks guys

Learn to block by holding :h: .. holding :4: is very unreliable, even though it can be used for spacing purposes sometimes (you keep backing away slowly). As for characters, Hitomi can be used as a rushdown character. I'll leave it to others to suggest other rushdown characters.

Also, low block is automatic as long as you are holding :2_:.

Just try your hardest not to get into the hold game. Most people's only form of defense is holding instead of blocking. Learn to block and punish, preferably with a partner if you have one.
