Petition to have DOAX3 released worldwide

Game production costs a lot more than that.
Thats exactly my point. They are alienating fans (and their own fictional characters) to make some fast money. And its not exactly 'project funding'.

The way they are thinking, and if they continue this way, they will go out of business for the sake of cheap gains.

Not following your logic. Just like w/ Kickstarter projects those costs are just a small percentage of total costs, but that doesn't mean it doesn't apply to overall budgets in the long run.

I think his logic is somewhere along the lines of "If it wouldn't create a financial difference to the project, then why make it a paid vote other than to nickel and dime the players?"

Or something.

Got it! Thanks for clarifying.

Only thing I have on that front is like mentioned multiple times in the other thread, the pay for voting is just keep it as accurate as possible. On a portal like PSN it's less easy to rig, people are less likely to spend for characters they aren't most serious about.

I agree. However, even if I did own a PS4, I wouldn't buy one of the themes by choice. And there would be a ton of guys out there, embarrassed to buy one who may be long term, die hard DOA fans. In one way, it does work, on the other hand it is limited.

At the end of the day, the whole thing just feels wrong to me.

Understandable, but at least it's not a pay 3 bucks to vote and get nothing. It's up to everyone individually if a theme is worth buying or worth the price value, but if there were no cost or responsibility associate with the vote to stagger the information, almost all people would select all characters outside of the few too lazy to not click on all of them.

Signed it but I still think this whole Asia exclusive is for show. So many obscure niche titles from no name companies get localized all the time.

DOA has a more realistic art style which also taken into more consideration..

Onechanbara Z2 was localized which has a more realistic art style and features an underage girl who can wear a ridiculous outfit consisting of 2 strawberries and 1 banana. The game not only was released in NA uncensored but it also sold just as many copies in NA as it did in JP.

Another thing to consider with doax is that majority of the western market believes the Xtreme series tarnishes the reputation of the main fighting series.

Which means what at this point though? Right now TN's main source of $$$ from 5LR is their predominantly female DLC swimsuit and fetish/anime outfits. Let's not forget 5 also has gravure videos. Their shift to focus on appealing to the Asia demographic isn't going to change any time soon with all the money they're making. If people are expecting 6 to start off like vanilla 5 did I think they're going to be disappointed.

I don't think 'majority' can necessarily be verified... More likely a highly vocal subset... Even the active DOAW/FSD & tournament group make up a very small percentage of DOA's income base. There's clearly a significant group out there somewhere that has spent enough to justify the content that David Gregg was referring to.

Anyone read Anne Rice's novel Lestat? Probably not...

Well, Lestat decides to make Nicolas - his former lover in his human life - into a vampire. Right as begins to feed on him, Lestat's current vampire lover - former mother in his human life - Gabrielle walks in on him and says "Disaster, my son." I don't want to spoil the plot for you, but let's just say she was totally right. It was a disaster.

I strongly urge the community to just IMPORT this f*cking game. I have already, on several occasions, offered to translate the necessities to play this game in the event it is not import-friendly. I would hate, HATE to see a worldwide release of this game. Even if I don't have the time, I assure you places like Hongfire etc. will devote a thread or two to DOAX3.

To review: Release DOAX3 Worldwide?
Disaster, my son.

"Importing" isn't the problem it's dealing with DLC especially for a Vita because it requires you to have a JP PSN account. Do you own a Vita? If so then you understand the frustration of trying to go from one region account to another one.

I do totally understand; I've got a Vita and I sometimes have to change accounts for my US games. I would rather - this is gonna sound selfish of me - people suck it up for the love of the game's DLC (if you're purchasing the DLC) and other fan service. Make the region switch every time you wanna play. Wear this as a badge of honor, like I do. Do your part for the community lol. I understand it's mega frustrating! But it's a miracle this game still exists... I'm not saying it's a good thing. But it's a miracle, let's not push our kharma. If you're willing to import, make the account switch if you're on a vita.

I do hope you understand though (and everyone else against localization) that this game will eventually be released outside of Asia. Even if some vocal members in the company want to put their foot down they'll become silent in a second when their higher up makes the final decision. When money is involved they will always go the route with the most profit. The whole "we need you to beg to get this game" is all for show.

This petition may help make the release date sooner though.

Makes you wonder then if they believe they won't make a profit by releasing to the West...

But who is "they"? Some member who goes on FB to respond to a rude post? They have said in the past that they operate based on what TK believes drives the most profit. Hence the dozens of female DLC outfits we've gotten for the past 3 years. So not releasing the game (even if it's just digital release only) in NA, Europe, Austalia, etc... would be the most profitable how?

I'm ok with that route. :)
In my opinion if this horribly sexist game does well in japan why not go elsewhere.
