This game is close to being playable, but there are a few things that need to be fixed for it to be fully playable

note:

there's no sound except for menu and "fighting" sounds

critical bursts crashes the emulator (I think it's because of the particle FX)

some stages crashes the emulator, like the AOT stage, the Fireworks stage, and the lower part of Crimson (again, I think it's because of the particles)

in stages like azuchi, lost worlds, desert wasteland, and sanctuary, avoid getting blasted or blasting your opponents into the torches and the mini stone pillars these crashes the emulator as well

also, don't get blasted and/or blast your opponents off the tower in azuchi best to just select the rooftop part when selecting this stage

as for the danger zone and the top part of Crimson, if you want to play in these stages, just turn off the danger zones, and for crimson, avoid getting thrown or throwing your opponents off the top part (the bottom part of Crimson crashes the emulator)

here are some screenshots ( unfortunately, i can't record my screen for some unknown reasons =((( )

edit: if imgur refused to connect here is the direct link just replace "dot com" with ".com" ( https://imgur dot com/a/shadps4-doa5lr-Q7fYfvt )

Interesting that you got it to work. I see you're on 0.9.1, on my 0.9.0 it just shows a black screen and ends up crashing the emulator.

oh forgot to mention you need to put a dumped PS4 firmware in the sys_module folder which is located in appdata\roaming\shadps4
you can google "Firmware 11.00 Decrypted Sys_Modules files" and then click on the reddit post that has the same title as the one you've searched, under that post you should see a comment with a mediafire download link

also you need to remove the file "ninja_vi.mp4" in DOA5LR's installation folder to bypass the video error

after doing all of this the game should run fine now

btw if you want to play on the 0.9.1 version just change the update channel to nightly which can be found in the emulator settings under the general tab

omg, you're right! I forgot that you could turn off the hit effects. I just tried it, and the emulator is no longer crashing. However, explosions and particles still cause the game to crash, unfortunately.

Its an interesting experience to play Dead or Alive without hitting any explosive danger zones.

It's like fighting on a stage made entirely of glass. You have to take care not to break anything; otherwise, it's game over lol. But anyways, I guess we have to wait a year or so for it to be fully functional

Well the emulator also doesn't handle the game's DLC properly. The DLC uses a key system that apparently the shadPS4 devs didn't even realize existed as an option. most games DLC is as simple as dropping the files into a folder but DOA5 has a small authentication system it uses for each outfit and character.

Yeah, DLCs still don’t work with the emulator, unfortunately. But the good news is, with Xcedf’s build, we can now turn on hit effects and play with danger zones active on stages without the game crashing. A few other things got fixed too, like the messed up depth of field. Sadly, there’s still no music just the menu stuff and character grunts. But overall, the progress is looking pretty good!
