Except like Juri and Guile, Necalli is reusing a design from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. (Jolyne, Stroheim, and Kars, respectively)

I was hoping for Juni or Alex, personally.

I have a strong feeling alex will be in this game, a lot of people love 3rd strike it's a shame if they don't put them in (except makoto, i'm sick of her ass)

On the other hand I don't think Alex is very popular, which is why the other third strikers got in 4, but not him.

Idk how people can put Laura down, her outfit may not be plain but the hair definitely makes up for that. Plus her gameplay hasn't shown yet and we don't know how her personality is like so ya shouldn't put her off so early.

Alex was on the leak list so he'll be in either as a in game character or amoung the first dlc.

According to the list (which seems pretty accurate as of late) the last spot is between him, Urien, and Juri.

Better not be fucking Urien. Chun and Yang may have been top tier but Urien and Oro were plain brain dead dialacombo bs.

Someone's obviously never played 3rd Strike (and probably doesn't even understand the game).

Urien and Oro are some of the hardest characters to learn in that game. You can't even being to play Urien competitively unless you learn how to charge partition. If you can't do that, then good luck trying to go for Aegis shenanigans. In the meantime, there's only 1 player in the entire world who can make Oro actually competitive (Kuroda), nobody else can push him to that level.

The problem is that all you see is these characters doing their stuff (Aegis unblockables, Oro chicken combos and rocks/orbs setups) and scream braindead without even figuring out how much effort it actually takes to set those up.

Stop believing the leaks.

Capcom's own material basically confirms that there will be no SFIII and SFIV characters at launch.

i'm willing to bet alex, urein or dhalsim
Except, as demonstrated by Capcom's own slide (which color codes the cast with purple for the 4 newcomers, blue for the Alpha characters who weren't in IV, and green for what we now know as SFII characters), no SFIII characters are making it into the launch roster.

The only probably characters are
-Akuma
-Balrog
-Blanka
-Dee Jay
-Dhalsim
-E. Honda
-Fei Long
-Guile
-Sagat
-T. Hawk

Personally pulling for Dhalsim, Sagat or Guile since the game needs a dedicated zoner.

As for the popular SFIII and IV characters, those have a big enough following that it makes more sense to have them as DLC characters.

I really don't give a shit about how "difficult" the execution is. Doesn't matter. I played third strike online and those two are easily the most obnoxious to fight. Just aegis shield and the stupid elbow lift/command grab bs that I couldn't react to.

I know it doesn't say anything about actual skill but I was in the top 25 alexes in the world on the 360 version so I did play 3so a lot for a while. Fucking hated those two more than my actually bad matchups. In custom lobbies id either ban all shotos o just ban urien Goro and akuma. Queue idiots joining lobby to talk trash because I banned their main. Actually had one guy join just to bitch for ten minutes about how I must suck and can't beat them yadda yadda yadda. I didn't even have a mic he was just talking to himself. (FYI I ban them because I'm sick of them not because I can't beat them)

You clearly didn't get hatefucked by a Yun or a Chun Li(3S Chun is one of the Easiest characters in FG's and one of the best in that game). I cant even get mad at a Urien comboing me to death as he/she worked their ass off in the lab to do those consistently. And fuck Brazilian Jiu-jitsu or what ever pompous spelling they are using.

Like I said I don't give a rats ass how long they spent in the lab. All I care about is how I can face 49 uriens in a row and each and every one is the exact same cookie cutter patterns with the only variation being if online is misreading my inputs. No I don't have to respect that nonsense. I respect uriens who don't do that aegis bs, not people who just look up combos on YouTube and mimic that.

At least with chun and yang I can deal with em easier and for some odd reason they aren't as frequent as uriens online. Plus I can still command grab yun/yang out of basically everything lol

Anyways back on track. So no chance of Alex or Juni?

What about Mikas tag partner? Anyone know if there's an option to seal them to play as her instead?

The leak is looking legit though. Plus apparently there are 3 secret characters too (I'm on mobile so I'll post the link later) so among Juri, Dhalism, Alex, and Urien, one is the last returning character while the other 3 are the secret characters.

Unfortunately the double standards are more common then necessary.

Then you honestly don't understand 3S. Urien and those unblockable setups were one of those things that came out mid way through the game's competitive life (when Tokido first demonstrated them at Evo agaisnt JWong I believe) that started to break the stranglehold that Chun and Yun had on tournaments. When that came out, the community for the most part agreed that it made the game and that match up in particular more fun and interesting.

3rd Strike has always been about meter options, finding the best meter option for each character, and then building a playstyle around that. A good part of the meta is about knowing what each characters best meter option is and building a gameplan around that.

Finding a player who doesn't use the usual SA options usually means an easier match because you know that the character doesn't have their best tools.

This sounds more like too much wishful thinking. Secret characters are a big negative, especially with how the locked characters in vanilla SFIV and MvC3 were received (the community basically told Capcom to never do this again).

More importantly, it works against their plan to offer DLC characters that can be earned with in game currency.

I disagree, people want secret characters they just don't want to pay for them.

By having the game come out with one unlockable character they could be a good way to show even the people who've missed all the news what's happening with the characters this time.

The very first thing they should see is that locked character and told explicitly how to unlock them. you need to get that info out before they stumble across the bad info and start screaming about on disc locked characters.
