So...these pre-release DoA5 tournaments...

Going to make the trip to a pre-release tournament?

Who's all planning on making the trip to one of these? I mean, regardless of location, who plans on dropping the cash to go? I'm personally going to at least one regardless of date, time, and location. Gotta make my three trip quota for the year and so far I only have Evo on the calendar, you see. Just trying to gauge interest on a strictly personal level, though it'd likely be interesting to others as well.

I have no money to travel, so probably never, unless a tournament somehow happens near Ocala, Florida, which I doubt.

Not gonna lie, the game is pretty damn fun if your character doesn't suck. Good opportunity to give feedback as well, even if your feedback only makes it to a post-release patch.

Team Ninja is very, very receptive right now.

Sadly, I neither live near anyplace near, nor am I good enough at the game to matter anyway.

Not to deter people from attending, but if you have limited travel funds for 2012, I'd recommend waiting for the post-release tournaments instead of going to the pre-release tournament(s). If you can do all of them, that's great, but I believe post-release should take priority.

I just want another crack at the game pre-release. Very seldom do we get an opportunity to give feedback in person to some members of the dev team or at least an employee of some description. That's worth the cost to me, but I concur that people that are a bit more budget-conscious should wait it out.

This thread was mostly curiosity on my part.

My bad, I half payed attention to the words pre-release. However, I meant in general for all tournaments, unless a tournament is very close to where I live, I won't be able to make it most likely :(

Is Orlando close enough? It's not out of the question for the Orlando scene to have DOA5 tournaments. There's even a chance CEO 2013 might include the game.

Heh that would be nice. Orlando is only 2 hours from me.

I live in Orlando Florida :) That be awesome if a DOA 5 tournament was there. Maybe it'll be at Amway Arena. That's only 20 mins. from where I live :)

QUESTION: Will the other pre-release tournaments and post release tournaments be streamed like the one at E3? I'd love to watch! I didn't know where to post this so yeah.

For major tournaments, yes. Those are streamed. I don't know about the pre-release, I am going to assume that they will be.
