What do people think about the soundtrack so far?

I hope they don't recycle the music in the full version.

I love it.

Tecmo has did an outstanding job with fan service and mixing it up. The fact that Tecmo put Chosen 1's track in the game shows nothing but love for the community. I really like the Hip Hop elements they've included in the game, particularly the beat playing while Tina & Mila spar from the leak video. The music on the Alpha demo sounds very reminiscent of DOA4's game mode selection music. I'm looking forward to the soundtrack CD in the collector's edition. I'm a big fan of beats & jams without lyrics so the soundtrack is looking to hit home for me.

I also wouldn't mind if Tecmo decided to throw in an Aerosmith track in there during a cut scene or something. That was an Itigaki thing so I doubt they want anything to do with that guy haha.

So far, the only songs I like are the menu theme and Alpha-152's theme, which is actually a DOA4 song. I'm getting the CE though, so I'll have the soundtrack either way. Hopefully it'll be good.

Yeah, that was just Itagaki's love for Aerosmith, so it's a safe bet that we'll never hear Aerosmith in DOA again. I'm really quite fine with that, to be honest.

The lack of character themes really gets to me. I can only assume there will be a stage or two that actually plays character themes, much like the Disco stage in DOA4 that always played remixed character themes depending on the characters you chose.

That being said, many of the stages and their stage music are just bad. Too Metal, when DOA has always been about Rock. Too Goofy, when DOA has always been about striking a balance. Too Intense, when DOA has always been about simply entertaining.

Honestly, the stage with the sakura flowers, and the ice stage - are the two only redeeming stages and stage themes. A runner-up for third place would be Flow with a notable mention for Scramble only because that stage has been played to death already even before the game's release.

If the boxing-ring stage ends up playing more themes than just Tina's, good on Team Ninja. If not, shame on them for being so lazy.

Based on the delivery and presentation of DOA5 though, I can't imagine anyone at Tecmo or Team Ninja preparing it to be either the best or the last the series (or even "DOA5") has to offer.

But Aerosmith are the best band ever... :( Ah well. I'd love it if they threw in some Aerosmith again but it seems rather unlikely given Itagaki's removal.

Music I've heard so far is alright. The lack of character themes is rather disappointing since I was quite a fan of them. I really didn't dig the rap tune that popped up in the trailer a while back (Chosen1?), but it's not a genre of music I listen to anyway so it was always going to be a lost cause on me. Hopefully some character themes will reappear in some capacity, definitely wouldn't mind hearing Blazed Up Melpomene somewhere. Vigaku being played in the recent Mila reveal clip was kind of nice.

Did they keep all or at least most of DOA4's music to go along with the new music? It'd be a shame if I never heard Solitary Desperation again.

By the sounds of it, the soundtrack is almost entirely new. There were only three songs from previous DOA's that I've picked up on (not counting Vigaku in the Mila reveal trailer), though I could have missed something.

I've never really cared for them myself.

Bummer, most of the new music sounds like a deflating fart balloon. I prefer upbeat and energetic music in fighting games. Some of the new music is nice though.

Yeah, I like the old stuff better too. The only thing about the new soundtrack that I prefer over the previous games is the menu theme. I've never liked the menu theme in any of the other DOA games, but I do like DOA5's menu theme.

The music isn't really that big of a deal to me though, so while it will suck if the new music is all bad, it won't hurt my experience much at all. I'm playing on 360 too, so I can use custom soundtracks anyway. Hopefully PS3 players can too.

I like the soundtrack so far and its way better than Tekken 6 ST but what I really want TN to add is custom soundtrack for the PS3.

I don't think the soundtrack is as bad as people say it is even for DOA. Some of the tracks have an "epic" feel and others have a more classic feel.

Sakura, Ends of the Earth, Flow, Scramble (Upper Tier) and Hot Zone all have pretty good tracks for them. And Fuel is decent (Mostly the upper tier theme). Everything else is mediocre or sucks though.

Oh and that new stage that was just revealed has a pretty good track too.

I think the soundtrack is completely forgettable, i haven't heard any noteworthy songs. The ost is definitely taking a backseat this time around, imo.

Still hoping for custom soundtracks on ps3!

Some have noticeable good themes.

DOA stage, Ends of the Earth - my favorite so far, Home (outside version has a nice kung fu theme), Sakura - nice japanese feel, tatami - soothing theme, and sanctuary. The rest I haven't really heard. I think alpha's theme fits well with depth, and Fuel has a really dramatic theme.

Some of the tracks are okay but the way they're handling it is stupid. Characters should have themes. It gives them personality. And I like rap but I don't want to hear it when Ayane is onscreen, it's tacky.

Anyway thanks to custom soundtracks I'll be listening to DOA3 themes when I'm online.
