Split DOA5 Community

He's also the only guy besides myself who was willing to mirror money match on a ridiculously glitchy ass character neither of us ever used before.

I'll be going on PS3. And maybe right now the split would be good. We can shed some of the unwanted elements from the older games base.

I don't know if splitting the xbox from the PS3 community would really solve anything Shin... but I know what you mean about unwanted elements.

Honestly, I think this is the perfect setup.

We've got the super-casuals on doaw, the hardcore on fsd, and the mentally challenged on tkp.

It's reminiscent of the neotaku/doacentral/doatec love triangle before neotaku and doatec collapsed, only now we've got the hindsight to deal with the bullshit. So much drama can be avoided, and we can take the people who actually want to be a part of the hardcore community as opposed to casualite refugees who have no business picking up a controller or stick.

I hope we can keep that triumvirate up we should be able to get some constructive things done.
Reason I am kind of for the splitting is one community will have newer people than the other and without that bullshit it could develop very well and perhaps though it's leveling being rased the other could be raised as well since they have something to compare to.

Well casually yes, I imagine they will be playing quite seperately from each other... but you can't really expect the PS3 guys to not attend a tournament held on a 360 and vice versa though. A DOA 5 tournament is gonna be a DOA 5 tournament, unless there is something catastrophically broken with one of the ports.

Not an issue for me either way though. As I said, I'll be getting both versions, so I'll be handing back twice the ass.

Man I hope this game makes it...

You and me both. With fighting games on the rise, it'd be a shame if one of the genre's veterans couldn't have a good showing for its next iteration, as well.

@Rikuto: Yes, I'm back...well if DOA 5 is playable that is lol. I may even buy DOA4 again. I'd say this will be my 6th or 7th copy of the game lol.

That and, if the game is good, I'd like to be able to play as many different people as possible while also being to rep DOA5 in Chicago on either platform.

Yeah, I hope we have a scene here in Chicago. I'd love to watch live tournaments and support DOA. After seeing the Hot Import Nights stream, I wish they do the same when HIN comes to Chitown Or, maybe in other convention venues.
