Started playing again

Hi all - Bought an original Xbox from eBay and DOA3, with DOA Ultimate on the way. I'm bye no means an expert player in the DOA games but I love the series and Ninja Gaiden. The fighting is real tight, so different from the current games. Can't explain it but it feels more of a challenge. I'm purchasing a capture device too and will put footage on my youtube channel when I'm ready. I love spectator mode in these versions since they are more cinematic where I can have four (YES TAG BATTLE WAS STANDARD!) DOA beauties going at it!

What a coincidence! I plugged in my OG Xbox and decided to play 3.1.
I don't remember it being THIS fun... Goes to show how much DOA lost it's sparkle after 4.

Was just playing DOA Ultimate now too. Unlocking through collection mode. Just want to say how awesome the graphics still look. I don't care about them being too blocky or jaggie but it's plugged in through my Pound HDMI adapter and looks real good.

Random Xbox modder/fixer/enthusiast here with a head's up to those who are not aware, remove your Xbox's clock capacitor ASAP. Very important. Most of these have already begun leaking by now. Any Xbox that is not a 1.6/1.6b revision will be destroyed if you neglect to take this action.

And play the game from the HDD, not the disc. Xbox DVD drives are incredibly poor and due to their very old age, they are failing at alarming rates now (dead/dying drives are becoming increasingly more common than working ones), so it's best not to add any extra unnecessary strain on those ancient laser so that it'll hopefully still work if you actually need it later in a pinch.

DOA3 is definitely a fun game. While you're on your DOA3 trip, check out Gultigargar's DOA3++. It's pretty neat.

Thanks for the head up. I have an Xbox 1.6 and the drive is made by Hitachi, I think. I am worried about the laser and disk drive failing but so far every game and demo I put into it has been working. even the Demos are being read. I want to open the system up and dust out any junk in it as dust is a computers worst enemy. I have been looking at videos on Youtube about that. I'm also playing DOA 2 Ultimate as well. Almost done unlocking the costumes in collection mode. Anyway are there Xbox modders out there that I can mail my system to for possibly and upgrade?

I still play 3, Ultimate and 4 on the 360 as well as DOA1 on my PSVita. 3 and 2 Ultimate hold up really well when playing thru all the games consecutively.

I actually traded my xbone for my cousin's 360 after mine broke specifically to play my old doa games. I can spend entire afternoons playing the games in order from 1 on my vita all the way to 6 on PS4 (I think 4is the weakest release).
