Hmmm... what about doing a document thread for Kasumi?
In different documents hosted on a server like google docs / box.com / Scribd we could do some documentation on Kasumi (Safe moves, bnb's, Stuns, unholdables, tactics, etc...) and have it available for Editing and downloading for all the people interested on learn her and/or learn to play against her.

So what you think?

Wouldn't it be better to put that in the wiki? That way if someone new to the game wants to find the info, it would be easier than to search the forums, since I assume they would go to the wiki first. I recall vfdc had something like that for vanilla VF5 and I thought it was both useful and convenient.

Well, that's a better idea, the wiki lacks in content.
EDIT: But what I mean is to have the documents available in the Kasumi forum and (in some extent) the Wiki. Sometimes is easier to consult them than looking for a post in the pages on the forums to be sure about an information, which is good for newcomers to the online/tournament play (like me and some other people on the forum) and as well for the experienced people.

This is redundant to me, but you guys have fun with it. It this proves to help you and new comers better than the forums then more power to it.

I think a wiki page would be great resource. Forums are great for discussion and sharing ideas but they have their limitations. Most people often visit the beginning and the end of threads and as a result important info can be lost or forgotten from the pages in between. Not to mention having to sift through posts that are old, or are no longer relevant or applicable. This can be mitigated with sticky threads and original poster keeping the first post up-to-date, but this doesn't always happen. The key is that people contribute and maintain the wiki page. If they do, then it can become a useful resource for anyone looking for accurate, up-to-date, and useful information on Kasumi, regardless of level.

To start, I created a Wiki page with a basic outline here: http://freestepdodge.com/wiki/doa5-kasumi-guide/ Anyone is free to edit and add/delete/change content.

This can just go on the Kasumi character page...

Plus, just a warning, the wiki should just be facts. Strategies are subjective. So keep it to facts like combos, strengths, weaknesses, etc.

I didn't notice the character page was open to be edited. I'll post the appropriate information on that page.

I debated whether to create a new page or append to the existing one, but the one that already exists wasn't necessarily specific to DOA5 and already had a decent amount of non-gameplay, character specific content so I opted to create a new dedicated page. If you prefer it on that page, I don't have major problem with that.

I agree to a certain extent. There is no step by step formula to playing any one character. And certainly there isn't only one way you MUST play a character. Anything heavily opinion-based should be avoided. However, based off experience and the character's known tools you can form a sort of effective "best practices" composed of general tactics/strategy gleaned from the consensus of the community.

Here are some examples from other communities:

http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?threads/work-in-progess-the-evil-ryu-guide.153362/ (a thread but could be better organized into wiki page(s) )

Strategies are subjective, but are usually based on actual move properties, other game data, or practice. Unless it's something really lacking substance, it would better be posted, discussed, and edited later. I would like to see strategy sections for every character on FSD wiki.

Example of subjective strategy tip:
This move is terrible, I hate it, and you should too. There's no reason to use this move.

Something less subjective, more informational about the same move:
This move has very small hit box that hits only at very close range and whiffs easily. Use it only during stun after …

Ok, so... as the main Idea didn't work out well... why don't we try to fill Kasumi's character section on the wiki?
I don't know... it could be of great use and it would give a solid info of her.

Keep it up guys!

What do you think about following structure for her (and other characters) strategy guide?

Overview

(Short overview of play style and options.)

Key moves
(Description of her key moves with notes about intended application. May tend to be a little bit subjective at the beginning, no big problem. Pictures or animation would be very nice.)

Strategy
(Short introduction to general strategy. E.g. what is the character generally about.)
(Followed by three subsections.)
Offence (or Offense)
Defence (or Defense)
Combos

P.S. I'm not a Kasumi player so I can't contribute content for her guide.
