SweetFX Shader Suite Download Version 1.3 - is a universal image improvement and tweaking mod, that works with almost any 32-bit DirectX 9, 10 or 11 game or application, a software made by Guru3D. The tool is really small, just 237Kb

For major info about, see its official page: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/sweetfx_shader_suite_download.html

In the site of the Doa community behind the Russian server of DOAOL (http://doa.getbb.ru/) I found a link for the download of the software with setting thought for the DOAOL. Below you can see the comparison with the normal game (left image) and the use of the software (right image). The result that immediately jumps to the attention is definitely the improvement of anti aliasing and the different light effects (look the photo at their original size):

For installing the software and use it for DOAOL is needed
a ) Extract "SweetFx_1.3.zip"
b ) Open the folder "SweetFx_1.3"
c ) Copy all the content found inside, in the own folder "Final" of the game Doa Online.
d ) Finally, with the game working, pressing the button "Scroll Lock" the effects of the software will be activated or deactivated.

To modify the effects according to the own preferences, it's necessary just open the file "SweetFx_settings.txt" and modify manually the numbers of the various camps. For each one are presents explanations about what is the function of the camp and what numbers insert to modify it, so it's actually really easy.

For who interested I post here a link for the SweetFX with the same settings used for the images posted over: http://www.mediafire.com/?h4ioo8bz0bwllbh

Looks more like a DOA3 styled lighting than DOA2U. the left is more consistent with the lighting and atmosphere of DOA2U.

I agree, but the effects of lights can be changed and disabled like every aspect of the mod. What I really like is the better anti-aliasing.

has anyone been able to put a tool together to modify the moves?

I don't think so. The only examples in this ambit should be the attempts to include the movesets of Christie, Brad Wong and Hayate in the game.

well that would be doable if someone were able to figure out how to update/alter move sets. it should be possible as it's possible on the console versions.
