So, I tried to see if I can find a Tales thread, but didn't have any luck, so sorry if this actually already exists.

So, Tales of Xillia 2 is coming out in the US...well, tomorrow, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to start this. Y'know, a thread to just talk about Tales and...Tales. Favorite/least favorite games and characters and such. Guess I should start, then.

Personally, Xillia and Symphonia are easily my two favorite games in the series thus far. They just kinda resonate with me, and I just think they're great games overall. Xillia especially, I absolutely love how it plays and the characters and just...love.

So, anyone else feel like sharing?

If every tales game played like Star Ocean 2 I'd be all over it. Sadly, Star Ocean 2 spoiled me to the point that tales seems inferior and every Star Ocean game after it was pathetic :/

My favorite tales are vesperia, legendia and symphonia. Yuri and Senel are some of my favorite rpg mains period.

Found my least favorite part of Xillia 2. Paying off that fucking debt just to advance the story. The dumbest way to force people to do side quests ever. Christ. This will probably be the first Tales game where I've even gathered 20 million gald on purpose just because I want to play the game.

Yeah, that was...easily the worst idea implemented in the entire game, in my opinion. Fortunately, you don't actually have to pay off the entire 20 million gald debt to finish the game; I believe it's closer to only 1 million. Still pretty stupid, though.

Unfortunately, I've never really had the chance to play any of the Star Ocean games, so I can't really say much about them. Looking up gameplay for 2, though, I do feel like I should at some point. Looks like I've missed out...

edit: actually with the PSP version there are 100 endings. lol

I'm a huge Tales fan. It's probably one of my favorite RPG franchises. My favorite would have to be Vesperia. I just love that game to death. I'm honestly having mixed feelings about Xillia 2. I enjoyed the first one but some of the things about 2 concern me.

Oh god i'm such a HUGEeee tales fan. i have all the games except for Xillia 2 because i don't agree with a silent protagonist. i'll probably buy it on one of those psn sales or whatever. i still wish Tales of Vesperia would get ported to ps4 in english.
