Team NINJA does a 33-man Developer Tournament

They don't want it to fail. They simply have a different mentality and are wrong about most of their opinions. Team Ninja just prefers to listen to them instead of putting people to read and analyze everything that has been discussed here in FSD for months.

The same thing happened to SCV, it was AMAZING at first and they slowly started to destroy it until most of the good players simply left. Some of them are even moving to DOA5 (Kayane).

Those 10 japanese guys secretly want DoA to fail. I wish Team NINJA could see that.

I wish TN hired people like Rikuto, Wah, and VP to be on the test team instead of a bunch of random Japanese players that, from what we have seen, are not very good.

It's too late now though. Come next week we will see what happens and if it's not up to par all we can do is hope they do the right thing and bring in a patch that fixes it.

It's nice that you play other games, Mailifang, but I don't know why you think people here who actually know how to play a game and have good intentions are now suddenly a bunch of selfish egotistical shit heads (okay, maybe a quarter of them), but telling them to shove their opinion up their asses is no way to get yourself taken seriously. I'm not saying you should lick their feet, but you should at least realize that they are telling the truth. I mean, for example, I can PM Mr. Wah right now and tell him he's a massive fat dick head or something, but at the end of the day, I know he's been playing these games for years with people who know their shit, so what they say is something which has been analysed and looked at from all angles.

No one cares about DOAC, that place was shit. So, let's just leave that behind us.

You just have to judge for yourself and see who is right and wrong here. Obviously, if you have more experience with other games and communities, then it's a hell of a lot easier.

Most of these guys here want you to improve. This is not New York where every one keep their tactics in their back pockets. and yes, you shouldn't take in whatever Bryan 'DrDogg' or John Doe say without processing it first (Yes, Bryan you have been wrong in the past. a lot. Same goes for me).

For me, it's not hard to just walk away from this game. Sure, I've made some contributions for the community, but I can just go back to KOF and Tekken or VF.

I am not telling anyone to shove their opinions up there ass lol. I just want some people to take their head out of their ass a realize that not everything is going to go they're way. It was a bit nasty. But I learned when debating with guys you have to debate with them on their terms. And that includes getting in their face and using minor curse words to get your point across ^_^.

I am not arguing against any one of the well respected members knowledge of DOA as a game. We just don't agree on some minor philosophical issues.

You should stop being so sexist and demeaning. As it stands I have no desire to respond to any of your posts, since you obviously don't respond to posters as individuals and lump everybody you speak with, in this thread anyway, as this "frat mentality" acting as if they're "on a schoolyard."

No one here cares about your gender/sex or anything else. You just need to be able to play the game and understand the fundamentals. If you're being wrong, we'll call you out. It's all fair and square.

Mali will probably have to do a double take on seeing me say this, but I actually think female gamers in the FGC get a lot more respect than they actually deserve most of the time.

In my experience, anything they can do is immediately several times more important then anyone else of the same skill level in terms of recognition.

Shocking as it may be to hear this, if they were really going to be treated equally we would have to start treating them worse. A lot worse.

I'd pre-ordered DOA5 CE, but after reading this thread, just let me feel people are saying "Hey! DOA5 has already fucked up! Don't buy it until it got patched". So sad.

And is there anyone wanna post the link of this thread on TN's twitter or facebook? I wanna see TN's response of this thread.

Unless you're planning on travelling to tournaments, I don't see why you wouldn't still buy DoA.

I'm still going to, and I'm sure I'll have lots of fun with it. But that fun will be only online, since very few people I know are going to play the game if it's anything like past DoAs (even if it's as good as DoA3.1, that won't be enough for most people I know to take it seriously).

They won't give a public response in all likelihood. Not this close to release -- everything is going to be kept as positive as possible. This is probably considered negative hype and I probably already pissed them off with my comment about the Japanese players.

But you know, it's like... a man has his limits.

To be clear, I'm not saying DOA 5 isn't worth getting. We all got DOA 4, and that game was truly atrocious. It's better than DOA 4. I'm just saying the Japanese testers butchered what it could have been.

Sexist o_O?! LOL. Wow thats the first time in my life anyone has ever thrown the sexist tag at me.

It seems I hit a nerve. No disrespect Skilletor but one thing I learned from playing in various fighting game communities (Which is made mostly of men by the way) is that you don't back down or show weakness. I play fighting games the same way I debate. I will admit that I do come into forums wearing " flame repellant" whenever I post anything. I've been through numerous internet debates so I know what to expect.

Well it's not the end, if something doesn't pan out correctly and enough people voice their opinions they will fix it.

No one cares about your gender. You're throwing it around like it means something then lumping in everyone else into a group. That's why he called you sexist.

Well, yes, you're being sexist. You're also treating me as if I'm the same as every other male you're coming across. You said above, "You're such a guy." Just because you're a woman doesn't mean you can't be sexist. It's exactly what you're doing. I don't know why you need to back down or show bravado in an internet debate, since that's not how I respond to posts. But since you're treating me that way, I won't respond to any of the posts you make.

And no, you haven't hit a nerve. Nothing said on a videogame message board is going to upset me. It's not that serious. :)

What do you think about it¿ Is it tournament viable as it stands now¿

I think it's only the DOA community that does this because of e-sports, because I haven't seen anything like this in other communities. Hell, female Tekken players are mostly treated like casuals (or worse), except for players like Chris and Dani in the UK Tekken scene.

People have to prove themselves, that's all you need. Yeah, maybe people will try to flirt with you or look at you funny, but everyone get this sort of treatment when they first start up.

I agree lol.Luckily the crew I rolled with didn't pull their punches with me. I used to talk a lot of shit back in the day.Until I went through my humbling experience.

When I ran my DOA tournaments guys and girls were on equal footing. Especially during heated money matches.
