That's kind of a blanket statement Kitch. All fighting games have bugs... lots of bugs. Lots of the time they work out to be beneficial to the game, strangely enough. It's only a problem when it somehow kills the game.

SCV's bugs don't kill the game though. Even the shit that people are claiming should kill the game like QS4G haven't even effected it yet, nor have any of the high level players used it to any degree of success in competition. Other glitches like the bugged out fuzzy guard hop is actually a viable tactic which you can easily spot and has a couple very large weaknesses attached to it, which I personally think just adds to the high level game.

And yes, SCV's netcode is basically jesus.

I really don't know why people are complaining about the development cycle: 1) You have no control over that, 2) Each game development group handles a project differently from the next and what takes time for one group may not take the same time for another, 3) You don't know the resources they may or may not have so you can't even gauge that.

Weren't people here shitting themselves over the release date being around Christmas or late 2012? Sep is even earlier.

SC5 also has the best netcode of any fighting game to date.

I said nothing about SCV being a bad game. It's probably better compared to SCIV imo, but that's a different story. However it has bugs that even I have found during matches that almost broke things. It has bugs and people say it was out a little too soon.

Id still rather see it Apirl/May of 2013. I dont wanna have the game was rushed feeling when I play it the first few times

PAY ATTENTION EVERYONE WHO SAYS THE GAME SHOULD COME OUT IN X MONTH IN Y YEAR. LET THE DEVELOPER DO THEIR JOB

Well, the game certainly doesn't look rushed. You won't really know how long the game has really been in development so this release date might not be as early as it seems. Closer to release date you'll be able to tell if the game is being rushed, but early on it's hard to tell.

Exactly Aion! Also, Sorwah has told me more than one time that DOA5 is further in Development than we know. And his statement came more into light when I saw the latest trailer, so a September release date sounds pretty accurate, granted that date can change at anytime. Til then, I'm sitting back waiting to analyze Team Ninja's next trailer.

Longer development time doesn't equate to a better game imo

Couldn't have said it better.

Besides Duke Nukem Forever, what other games actually suffered from longer development time, anyway?

I think GT5 became over ambitious and focused on one aspect of the game that really wasn't as important as they made it out to be (I.e the limited number of super detailed cars and meticulously recreating the tracks.).

Had GT5 released two years prior it would have been a roaring success but because it came out around the same time as Forza 3 it made itself the inferior product.

Too Human had a much longer development time than it had intended and I think what we ended up with was worse because they switched from the Unreal 3 engine to their own in house product which took away time that could have been dedicated to other areas of the project.

NBA 11 had a LONG development cycle and had the game released (and they were a cunt hair away from putting it out) it would have been the worst basketball game since Charles Barkley Shut up and Jam.

Development time is informed by unforeseen circumstances - you can project that a project will take exactly 2 years to finish all you want but all it would really take to set you back a few days or weeks is a programmer having marital issues.

Ahh, Too Human. I overlooked that.

And I just remembered Virtua Fighter 3's original console plans. It was intended to be ported to the Saturn initially, but... well, the history speaks for itself.

Speaking of Virtua Fighter 3, why did they take away the multi-leveled terrain in the stages? It was the only VF game that you could walk up and down stairs and slopes and walk in shallow water (beach stage). What gives? Idk about you guys but I'm not a big fan of FLAT and/or SQUARE stages, especially when there's too many of them. I don't care how pretty it is lol.

スウェーデンで応えたインタビューです。 http://www.gamereactor.eu/grtv/?noad&id=24321
"Swedish interview. http://www.gamereactor.eu/grtv/?noad&id=24321"

Team Ninja video interview that doesn't say much again. I don't like how Hayashi interviews. You ask him one question and he goes off and talks about whatever he wants, which are usually very general concepts he has for NG and DOA. Trying to get information out of Hayashi seems like trying to get blood out of a turnip, you just can't do it, haha.
