They didn't change the design too much, but they did remove a lot of weapons. I don't know what style he'll use, but it'll be interesting to see how he plays. And because he's made to not be stereotypical, I want him to be as stereotypical as possible. I want his stage to be a sultan place filled with gold and Arabian belly dancers with appropriate Arabian music in the background. Lol

saddly there are a lot of jokes like this, of course most dont think this way but most arent commenting either; and why should they? they're fine with the character.

I think the only reason people are making jokes and a big deal about this is because Harada specifically looked for feedback from Arab players. Had Harada just introduced him without even specifying his race/ethnicity, people would just make assumptions and/or just would have made Assassin's Creed jokes (which they still are).
you haven't been paying much attention for the last several years or so if you think that Harada has anything to do with racial jokes. anytime a middle eastern character is seen these jokes follow because the conflict and tension over there has been broadcasted and magnified for over a decade.

And @Jyakotu just to add to russian's point, Harada accidently wrote allah on the saudi stage and quickly got it removed since he DID offend people and didn't want to make more tension. Assassin's creed jokes are fine since he does(or used to) look exactly like an assassin's creed character. It's more or less like a comparison.
Harada looked for feed back because he wanted to make sure he didn't offend people. People got extremely upset over miguel looking like a bull fighter in tekken 6.

Muslim and Middle Eastern people in general are always subject to this type of ignorant abuse by the majority (usually ignorant Americans). All people tend to know about is the extremists that don't really stand by what they believe in. Almost exactly like (American) Christianity and the KKK and other Christian based terrorists.
Shaheen would still receive this type of treatment regardless.
It is always important to be aware of how people react to certain characters. Representation matters a lot these days, and it's never a good thing to have your culture misrepresented or mocked because people don't really know about it.
Asking for feedback from the Saudi Arabian community was a very smart move, this way they know what they're doing. Unlike what happened with Miguel and Zafina from T6 to Tag 2.
Tbh, I didn't even mind how Miguel or Zafina looked in Tekken 6. Miguel didn't look like a bullfighter to me, he just looked like some homeless guy. Zafina, I didn't even know what culture she was supposed to represent until Harada confirmed she's Egyptian. But I understand where you guys are coming from. These stereotypes have been existing for a long time, but with everything that has happened in recent years, developers have to be especially careful how to portray their characters.
