Whoa, so much that happened here so quickly, need to catch up. RE7 and God of War are very high on my list of must have games, and I haven't seen the trailers yet :-( Huge fan of both series. First thing after work today is start downloading the RE7 demo and watch all these trailers

I played the demo of RE7... Honestly? As a generic modern first person horror its not that bad.

As a Resident Evil game? It doesn't deserve the name what so ever, almost everything that makes resident evil great is missing in the game, the most RE it gets is inventory management and being alone.

It honestly just feels like Capcom wanted to make their own PT/Silent Hills and are cashing in on that.

Have no problems at all with the new direction it took. Its not like this is the first drastic change for the series as it went from survival horror with static camera that focused on exploration and puzzle solving, into a dudebro co-op action shooter with no horror elements whatsover,to a FPS pure horror game.

Watched someone playing the demo on Youtube. Wasn't really impressed. :/ I don't like FP games and the type of horror (this inbred in the backwoods torture porn stuff) they are going for I don't like either. I honestly thought they would go back to Resident Evil 4 and make a game in that style. Everyone loved that game, me included. Oh well, in a few month the remaster of RE4 hits the PS4 anyway.

My thoughts after playing through the demo a few times.

I still think the full game will be 3rd person with weapons etc and that they just used first person for the demo to set the scene, Also the "ghosts" are likely not real and in the characters mind and there's plenty of newspaper's that mention ghosts in real life but that doesn't mean they're real. Also possible spoilers but if you haven't played Revelations 2 ( you'll also have no idea what I'm talking about ) the little girl Barry adobts Natalia gets her mind taken over by Alex who wanted a younger body to avoid death, Natalia's mind now taken over by Alex is probably who the antagonist of this game will be. And in the demo it seems to be her who's on the phone, plus the character dies at the end of the demo do chances are we won't be playing as them and instead will play as who lots of people think will be the protagonist Rebecca Chambers who ends up there somehow. And finally its been said that its an estate so the game won't be set in just a little cabin with deformed country people.

So, a little caught up now. First of all, the new God of War, like OH MY GOD!!! That game looks beautiful! I really like the new direction that went in.
Played through the RE7 demo twice now and yeah, it really has nothing to do with RE, if this was a demo for a new Silent Hill (like PT previously mentioned) I would totally get that. I did like the demo, even jumped a bit in my seat that first go through. I was initially against it from what you guys posted here about it being a first person game, I like very few of those, but this worked, though I hope it's like Jade says that it will be third person in the end.
