First there was the inception of Lili, who Harada practically claimed as her little girl/favorite at one particular time, as if to mimic Itagaki's thoughts on Kasumi being like her little girl. Both were underage. Soonafter, the shipping between her and Asuka spread like wildfire, and they both end up being the most popular females in the series, dethroning Nina and she-who-shall-not-be-named Williams.

But that's not all.. oh, no. In Tekken Blood Vengeance, they added even more fanservice to the fold, albeit to a hilarious extent. An unlikely pairing between Xiaoyu and Alisa escalates to borderline yuri near the end of the movie, with Xiaoyu affectionately calling Alisa her "refrigerator" and throwing a bit of innuendo of her experience with "refrigerators", all while walking around her bedroom in Lee Chaolan's mansion wearing ONLY a towel. Don't believe me? Here's the proof:

The movie got quite a bit of flak as well, saying that despite a decent fight between the Mishimas, it played out too much like a fanservice fest for the then-popular Alisa (to Japanese audiences, anyway) and Xiaoyu. Some would even say this and the popularity of Asuka and Lili (who by far have not been progressing the story) are what's "killing the franchise".

The only thing Itagaki influenced hadara on were the swimsuits, hadara still specifically crafts special stories for each characters and doesn't make it all about lili which let's face it, doa is mostly all about the ninjas while brief mentions of other characters.

Well Tekken has promoted and put more attention on the TK girls alot more. Even now in TKR Harada redesigned the girls to look more cute.

I'll tell you why i believe they did that (and ling looks like she's been hitting the nose candy)
They're still doing tekken x street fighter and i believe that the females would be really hard to do so they're actually making them kawaii. If chun li looks ugly that will not go over well i can tell you that much.

Marie Rose joined to the DOA5U Roster. As announced, there will be more fighters to start fighting with you this year. We fully noticed that there are some fans complaining such characters should be free, referring our past interview. This is not our excuse, but you should understand what we told was that we don't unlock any hidden characters with charges in the disc version of DOA5. Our policy is still the same. Marie Rose and such new character was/will be developed for Arcade version and transferred to the console with response to many strong wishes from our fans in the world. If you don't like her, that's OK. If you don't want to spend $$$ to her right now, please wait a bit longer, we will release the new characters bundle with better value price later, at least 6 months later from now. That's our original plan when we released Marie Rose to the console last year. All your choice. We will keep supporting Fighting Game and DOA franchise as long as we have our fans there in the world. Thank you for listening

So, basically, they're going with Hayashi was talking about the practice of having paid on-disc characters hidden away being sucky and unfair. Hmmm... I dunno if I buy it. Didn't quite seem like that's what he was talking about. But, at least they said something regarding the backlash.

Actually I think that the core fighters should have it after you are able to watch 10/11 lose poses even in that version: I remember that an user of this forum stated to have managed to unlock it.

Actually in a previous tweet Team Ninja stated that they are amazed by the number of outfits for male characters received:

I don't think so, the update for the Arcade with Phase-4 is already out (the last trailer was related to her relase) and no new stage was promoted inside it. The 1.05 is adding only the new character but no new stages (also, the Japanese notes for the DoA5U:Arcade 1.05 don't talk about new stages).

I said so several times. And I got to a point I started ignoring such an argument (DLC characters) seeing as people just read what they want to read how they want to read.

Yes, now that you mention it, I remember that too... well, it's a good sign, I guess... if they noticed it they'll hopefully act on it.
( not that I care, I'm all 100% love for dem gurlz, but I respect people who want guys to look good, why not make everyone happy? \o/ )

I can honestly say I believe, even if I've been around here for not too long, that TN/Tecmo seems to care more about reading the people's voice than most companies do (even if sometimes they might not do it the right way).

also, double post too stronk
