Honestly, I really don't know what's the hold up. It's not like his body is any different from Bass and at most, he's always going to be fully-clothed so whatever his body built is under the robes shouldn't really matter unless they gave him a shirtless costume/fighter pack where he has to be a flipping Adonis physique-wise.

Is it the nails? Almost half of the girls sporting nail polish and even Brad (and Ein?) was sporting special nails in his Halloween costume.
Is it the wings? They were able to give Hitomi and Hayate some angel wings in their Halloween costumes.
Is it the beard? Bass and Gen Fu sports them and they don't look that bad either during DOA5's transition.
Is it the face? He can't be Tengu without it. It's his asset to look that way.
Is it the "realistic" approach of the game? As if teleporting was considered realistic and all the ninjas utilize ninpos in some of their attacks.

They got so many excuses...

This being an April fools joke seems way to obvious and they keep bringing it up

I'm not 100% it won't end up a joke, but it seems quite likely

My hate for Tengu is annoying, but people can keep hyping up a character that isn't even as popular as people think. No matter what, Team Ninja seems to value the opinions of their Japanese fanbase the most. If the Japanese fanbase isn't so fond on Tengu, then why add him back to the game? He's dead and there's nothing left for him in the story. Like someone said earlier, Leon and Ein may not have a story, but they're not dead. Ein is an alter ego and Leon got new moves. Rachel and Momiji are just further connecting Ninja Gaiden and DOA. Phase-4 was always planned to be in the game from the moment we saw her in the vanilla DOA5 ending. At this point, like I keep saying, Team Ninja should just make a brand new male character.

@Jyakotu I understand your perspective. I just think that the way this was handled (if he's really not included) was pretty dirty. At least with you we know you don't want Tengu in the game. TN on the other hand, rather than just tell fans "No we're not adding Tengu", they instead keep us hanging on for who knows how many months and then use him of all characters as the focus of their joke. That's why I'm frustrated.

I swear TN said last week there would be a character reveal this week. I highly doubt they're trolling about Tengu, so much evidence has been provided but people are still in disbelief because of the date lulz.

I want to believe... :( The only thing that gave me some hope was the patch placeholders screenshot. Anyone know the source for that?
