As if the characters created under Itagaki's direction were that original lol. I appreciate Itagaki for creating the series we all love but after doa4 i guess it was his time to leave and im actually glad he did so, im sure he must be pretty upset seeing other people dealing with his project but at the end of the day the story mode in doa5 was much better than the nonsence that was the story in the previous doas. Without the character descriptions on the manuals and later doad we wouldnt know shit about the characterizations that were not that big to begin with, so i dont know how doa5 ruined a couple of characters for some people.

i like how you just basically insulted everyone that wasnt Mila lol.

i dont see why people harp on Rig so much guy got a shaved head so what?
I love Mila too but let's be honest, she's not exactly breaking the mold or super unique either. No need to insult every other character.
it was less to insult everyone but Mila, and more to point out that the new concepts suck and I only like one. even though Mila is a standard tomboy, and after her defaults TN threw that out the window and just gave her dumb whatever leftovers for dlc. tthere I insulted my main too, happy? the point was TN can't concept or design a full roster for a new fighter. tthey lack the (consistent) creativity. (rigs issue is that hes utterly bland and virtually indistinguishable from most western designs, up to authentic ones like prototype, to guys meant to look western, like Jake muller, who rig is a dead ringer for.)

seriously? ill admit 4 was ooc for a few, but 5 straight threw characterizations out the window to the point where a half the cast are essentially new characters. aas for originality, the previously introduced characters are better than those brought in with 5. only reason I let Mila off the hook is shes the only one who isn't a ng import or copy of an existing character or another token anime stereotype obviously put there purely for the Japanese market. she's the only one I can't make an immediate comparison to something else (except Leon for gaining a handful of his moves).

They're white and have a shaved head that's really the only similarities between Jake and Rig. So basically if you have a similar hair style your a copy? then again the people who say this are probably the same ones who though Chris bed head was the same as Bayman Marine cut.

@Argentus you do realize that Mila is based off a stereotype as well right? The short-haired spunky and rough-housing girl who wears more masculine clothing and probably spends extra time in the girl's shower room (;)). It just so happens that that's one stereotype that you like but it doesn't make it any more original than the others.

they also have almost they same face, scars, role in the story, smirk, posture, and general demeanor. and everyone says Bayman looks like Chris because he does. he went from looking like well,Bayman, to randomly becoming a broski marine. ttotal character overall, and virtually no reason for it, other than to be the Chris to rigs Jake. sseriously, why else change his hair with the outfit? (like how cyborg 009 characters got redesigned to be carbon copies of existing tekken characters.)

I know, but shes also the only one who isn't bland about it. rig is blatantly Jake, another kasumi clone somehow worse than alpha in that respect, an inexplicable anime loli that feels as out of place as tengu, and some ninja Gaiden characters. if Mila were as bad as the others, shed be more of a cocky aggressive Hitomi. iinstead we got a punkhaired but perky MMA girl. its hard for me to stereotype or compare her beyond saying "tomboy", whereas I can pinpoint the others' lack of creativity. tthat is why I let her slide more, and use her as an example of new TN doing a good job with a new design. but as I said, based on all the others who are much less inspired, I wouldn't trust TN with making a new roster for a seperate fighter right now.

oh my god, no they don't

The only similarities between rig and jake is that they look similar, demeanor and their fathers are both evil genius assholes who think they're god. They actually both are very different in terms of plot as one becomes a good guy and the other becomes a villain.

Also, not for anything bayman doesn't look like chris redfield at all. Doa4 bayman looks actually more similar to a re: code veronica remake chris then a doa5 bayman to a chris of re5 and 6.

This is what cracks me up most about argentus's chris debate the fact he is right but wrong about the current iterations

Honestly I just think it's uncalled for to try and argue why you think the character you play is so unique and then slam the other characters and comment on how they lack originality but thankfully one person's self-centered view doesn't influence an entire company and I hope that TN continues to keep doing what they're doing. ;)

I actually really love Mila and I feel she kinda does bring something new to the table.

1.She uses MMA which is rarely in FGs like this

2.She is a tomboy

3.She joins the tournament in order to meet her idol

4.She has a hairstyle with highlights

5.She resembles a punk (kinda)

6.And she has a more "realistic" design

as I said, they also have almost the same smirking face, voice, hair scar, posture, demeanor, son of the bad guy role. as for bayfield, I don't recall Chris being a scowling squarejawed slicked back hair guy in cv. Look, you may not agree to the degree of resemblance with rig/Jake and bay/Chris, but the resemblance itself is inarguable. its not like I'm the only one whose pointed it out.
