Also some info on The Official Team

1.There is a girl who wears a Bian Lian mask and is never seen without one. When she switches mask, she also switches ti different fighting styles.

2.There is a teenage girl who is a Chinese idol. She has an electric element.

3.There is a hooded man. Not much info on him aside from that he wears a hood similar to the Assassin's Creed lead characters.

Looks like they don't. I feel bad having of these leaks... And it spoils the party a bit, to be honest.

At the end of april there will be a fighting games tournament in Osaka, KOV. KOF XIV will have an exhibition there, and it will be the first time the game is showed in Japan. So I expect a new build and some reveals. Maybe even a release date.

Man this game is already hype because KoF was suppose to be dead anyway. Anyone not interested isn't a fan.

I wonder if the new main character is gonna break that KoF theme of "main character has fire powers." Although that wouldn't go with the whole "Burn to Fight" theme they got going.

Best stage thus far. There's actually people in the background, and the lighting is much more lighthearted and lively.

I like lifeless monocolor stages. That lonely and ruined church for example is much more appealing to me for having a fight. I don't see why everybody wants to see a colorful and lively stage with a crowd cheering you up. That's so typical... not to mention that people don't enjoy fights like if they were watching a football match. I don't dislike that Mexico stage, but is not my favourite.

Seriously, SFxTekken has made me tired of people, things, dinosaurs in the background. I'm already distracted by breaking the fire hydrant in SFV lmao

Mexico stage is a lucha ring tho so there would have to be audience tho, and KoF is mostly presented as a televised event.

i went directly to the original tweet and clicked "copy image location". not sure how more original i can get.
Then I shall tell you. :)
You can always get the original size image from Twitter by altering the image address. Usually after the ".jpg" there's either nothing more (for the depiction of the image in the feed) or there is ":large" added (for depiction in "full view"). In this case you got the "full view" version:

But this is actually still resized and compressed. To get the real original you have to just swap the "large" for "orig".

Good to know, right? ;)

Unfortunately the IQ is still pretty bad but that is because they already uploaded an already compressed picture (screen from the trailer maybe?). I really don't understand why some game companies still do these bad promo shots. This should be a no go nowadays.

Is anyone else worries they may try to add tag mechanics into this game?

That's pretty much one thing that can ruin a fighting game for me if it becomes the standard.

KOF never had such thing. Only in KOF '99, if I remember well, had a striker system where you could use a member of your team to help you. Just like an special attack. You don't even can switch between characters. I hardly doubt they will implement tag in KOF, since Mr. Oda said that '98, 2002 and XIII are the base they are using into this new chapter.

Actually, KoF 2003 and XI had tag mechanics, with having Leader Desperation Moves and quick tags for long combos. It shook up KoF a bit, and people hold XI is high regard because of it. Also XI was the second time they used Dream Cancel, which is what Advance Cancel in XIV looks like to me. Still, the game feels like a theme of " Reboot 94 " so it's not gonna have any tag.

XI also had a judgment system based around how well the players played instead of giving the win on time up to the person with the most health. That was cool. Kinda hope they add that.

I agree. I never really liked 2003 and XI, maybe that's why I didn't remember those chapters had tag system.. Let's see what SNKPlaymore has in mind with KOF XIV. For now to limit Ex moves to Max mode sounds like a good decision, and Advanced Cancel looks cool.

XI isn't really held in high regard. Not when compared to the 2 "classics" which are 98 and 2k2. The biggest criticism of XI is how hop happy the game is, to the point where hops seem to bypass good fundamentals, combined with alot of BS. High level play in XI is governed solely by how BS your team is, whereas in '98, good fundamentals beats BS.

Speaking of '98, that seems to be the game that XIV is heavily leaning towards, to the point of taking out and/or fixing stuff that was in XIII that made it play differently from '98. This includes fixing the hitboxes and making them seem to work closer to 98 than XIII, even characters that have movesets closer to their XIII incarnation function much better in the neutral, much more like 98. One example of this is characters not being able to hyper hop or low profile Andy's projectile anymore (unlike XIII but like 98) and Leona's crouching C being a much more reliable anti-air like it was in 98 and 2k2.
