Just a quick post to thank those who showed up at my place today: shytzoo, CJ, Nai (I think that's how you spell it haha) and Aegis!

I also want to thank Aegis for pointing out that my big TV has a huge input lag on DOA 5. Thanks for that. Now I can never play DOA 5 without realizing that everything I do is delayed. But special thanks to shytzoo who brought his PS3 set-up and his awesome (lag-free) monitors haha

mmkay all. SO! We are trying to get a little gathering at an arcade in Sacramento. https://sacwiki.org/Country_Club_Lanes. theres some info on there but not a lot. the address is 2600 Watt Ave. We are looking at the 30th, but thats not set in stone. if your interested... well, say somethin :p
EDIT: oh, also, the location isnt set in stone either. were just trying to get something in Sac and that was an ideal first choice as it has dat arcade
EDIT numba 2: ok quick update. we are now considering a davis arcade as it will likely be cheap/free. (this is obviously quite up in the air considering ive edited this twice in the last 30 mins) but yes, the davis arcade is a place to consider. http://daviswiki.org/MU_Games_Area

Hello everyone! I am currently stationed in Monterey, CA. If anyone is interested in getting together for some offline sessions during the weekends then I'm down! I currently don't have a car but I may rent one soon. So if you don't mind the drive then you'd be greatly appreciated. Also, there is a recreational center on base that's perfect for a tournament environment. I may look into holding tournaments there if I get permission, and if you guys think it would be a great idea. The systems are already provided but you may want to bring your own copy of the game and extra controllers just in case. With that being said, please feel free to contact me if you're interested. Just shoot me a PM and we can work something out. :)

EDIT: Can someone tell me when BOTB2 and NCR is going down? I can't find it on the calendar.

Don't know much about lag on TV's but maybe it has something to do with the refresh rate? I definitely don't feel lag on my plasma but compared to an LCD's refresh rate of 60-120Hz, I'm doing like 500-600Hz.

Can I be the irrational person and just blame you for the lag because you're a witch? That's the easiest thing for me to do right now haha

plasma's can lag too. the things that affect lag are post processing effects (which is why all tvs/monitors should be set to "game mode") and upscaling etc. if the tv isnt 1080p native (keep in mind that even if a TV says that it does 1080p, does not mean it is native 1080p) it means that the image needs to be resized before displaying on the TV. i have a couple of plasmas that have upwards of 50+ ms lag, the evo monitors are at 18ms i believe. that makes a huge difference when doing like 1 frame links in some games.

i believe there's a website that breaks down tv lag for different TVs in ms. i think the biggest tv was like 25" with the evo standard of 18ms. 32" was the biggest for "acceptible".

Thanks everyone who came down to BOTB2 and helped us rep doa. It was a lot of fun! Hopefully this will encourage people to come out more and get better at the game.
