I find it funny that one ends the higher morale thread with an insult towards about 50% of the American people, and the presidential candidate they voted for.

I read entire "Shit We Lost" thread to get an idea of what's happening. I just have few active months in this community but I play DOA since first DOA2 arcade release. I found it an interesting discussion with much bias caused by the Grap3 past behavior. My finals thoughts are:
I love DOA as many people does. The last installment of DOA have dissapointed many people in same way other installments also dissapointed others, but insulting TN or members of community hurts DOA instead of help it to get better.
If Grap3 had channeled his dissapointment in more constructive ways, he would have gotten more respect from many members of community. More respectfull ways of communicating thoughts and feelings would help a lot. Also more patience would help, because DOA needs time to evolve and achieve balance we all want.

The last paragraph in this post is one of the main reasons why I don't really care to make posts on how I feel about the game in general. The other reason is that it will end up with a lot of bickering back & forth about what needs to be changed & what should stay. I know I posted a few times (in some threads) on what I felt needed to be done about the game in 5U, but in reality, regardless of how I feel about it & how the game turns out (imo), I know that I'm gonna play the game anyways because I like DOA. And it really doesn't help if I'm gonna complain about it. So the way I see it is you have 2 options: Play it & do what you can to help or put it down. It's all you really can do. That's how I feel anyways.

I see that this is the code of silence some of the vets have taken.
I guess I will follow it if I choose to after DOA5U.
Seeing those VF style bounds alone has me undeniably anxious for the game.

I don't know when it'll kick in on me, yet (prolly won't). The bounds are dangerous too. Makes way for a good follow up.

EDIT: I "do" wish vets would comeback, though. Hopefully this 1 coming up is good.

I'm just seeing this thread now and I feel that I need to address some issues and misinformation.

Grap3 has a long and checkered history starting bullshit up around this very topic and having

absolutely zero idea what he is actually talking about.
I'd like to correct you here. While I certainly don't know everything about this game, I feel that I know quite a bit, not as much as you or Wah but I definitely know my fair share and I make noise, not "bullshit," about issues so that they hopefully get addressed in-game.

The only reason he ever starts up these "discussions" is so he can eventually escalate it into a crusade about how much he hates team ninja
This could not be further from the truth and I don't know where you picked up this ridiculous notion. I do like Team Ninja but I am very disappointed in their efforts with this series. I try harder than you and Wah to actually give them the benefit of the doubt.

I bought a 3DS at launch in order to try Dimensions and give a new Team Ninja the benefit of the doubt. I spent $100 to get the Ninja Gaiden 3 collector's edition just to try the DOA5 demo and give Team Ninja the benefit of the doubt. I literally have still never

played NG3 and have that huge box sitting in my room. I gave Team Ninja the benefit of the doubt and got DOA5 for Xbox 360, the collector's edition at that, despite it looking like I wouldn't like the game. I also bought the guide to support Dr. Dogg's efforts and all the info he helped provide us before the game's release.

"Hey grap3, you need to try out 1.03! You'll love it." I went out and bought the PS3 version that weekend just to try it and give Team Ninja the benefit of the doubt. I spent the money to dual-mod my stick just so I could play DOA5 1.03 properly. Haven't used it for anything else on PS3. I bought every single version of the Japanese DOA5 books (all four of them) to try and support Team Ninja.

I was supposed to go with Wah to visit Team Ninja at one point but couldn't get time off approved at work before flight rates shot up. I still went and got my passport despite that just in case things did pan out but they never did. Still haven't used my passport.

I spent countless time, money and energy to try and hack DOA4 into something playable with the knowledge that, even if I succeeded, I would have no way to let other people play. One of my biggest accomplishments was allowing people to play as Alpha-152 years before everyone else at a Dead of Winter event with a modded copy of DOA4.

Wah made a comment on the forums a few months back that he like DOA5 as much as 3.1 but for different reasons. This really peaked my interests and got me excited about DOA5. I really wanted to hear what his feelings on the game were and what I was missing out on. I tried to get him to talk on several occasions, he refused every time.

I'm still getting DOA5U to try and give Team Ninja the benefit of the doubt, especially with the lack of solid gameplay info out there, which is both concerning and hopeful. One one had, they might have changed the gameplay for the better... on the other hand they might not be saying anything because it'll just be disappointing.

So, please, try and say I'm on a crusade against Team Ninja when I keep giving them the benefit of the doubt despite them repeatedly giving me reasons not to.

and how we're all terrible people because we don't share his point of view on everything.
Again, when have I expressed anything like this at all? You're pulling shit out of your ass to try and make me look worse than I am.

And I actually feel like you do agree with me for the most part and that we want the same things. It's just that both you and Wah have taken to the side of "Can't say anything nice, won't say anything at all." I can't recall if it was you or Wah that told me over IM last year that my being as vocal as I was wasn't netting positive results because I just came off as a hater. Something like that, I can't remember the exact phrasing.

It was mentioned that this was why Manny always got preferential treatment: because he was always saying positive shit about DOA, no matter what. Since then you two have taken the "can't say anything nice, won't say anything at all" position and have been much less active on this very forum. You don't want to come off as disliking the game when you really want to ask for tons of changes so you just keep quiet instead while hoping to get on Team Ninja's good side.

I've definitely cooled my roll. I tired out DOA5, I didn't like it (just like I knew would happen) and I just put it down and didn't play it and let the world turn. When I did play DOA, it would be one of the older games. I've recently gained a fondness for the original Model 2 version of DOA1. It feels so great when played with an arcade stick.

My only recent comments to Team Ninja on Twitter have been to ask for a port of that with online play and to compliment Shimbori's English.

It is trolling at its purest form and will not be tolerated.
Despite what you claim, I'm not trolling and everything I say is completely sincere.

You have to remember that Grap3 is a person who does not even play this game.
I may not have the experience of you or other people with this series but I definitely do play it.

Nor has he really played much of the rest of the series -- he just mimics things that other people have told him and attempts to start controversial topics with them.
Or I've listened to things people have said, realized "Yeah, they're right! Why isn't anyone making a bigger deal of this?" and gone on my crusades to get more people to notice.

For example, one of the big points he made was how Bayman's :236::K: used to be +9 on block, and it's a horrible injustice that it is now only +1.
You're horribly exaggerating again. Please point out where I made it a "horrible injustice" that it used to be +9. Please show me where I bitched and moaned about how it used to be +9. I merely pointed it out. Of course, I wouldn't have known that had I not had your assistance in determining some of his changes.

Let me ask you something, do you honestly believe that a 19 frame TRACKING MID should be +9 on block?
Did I say it should be? Please show me where I said that. Otherwise, we're look at more libel from Rikuto. All my video did was point out that it was +9 at some point. I didn't make a big deal of it. I didn't make any kind of deal about it at all. I merely pointed out differences in versions of the game.

I didn't point the video to Team Ninja and bitch at them about how the game used to be better. I didn't voice that in the video itself either. I merely stated facts in the video to give people food for thought. "This used to be this, that used to be that." The only opinion I stated was how I liked Tina's juggle potential in the E3 build because, yes, I liked her juggle potential in earlier versions of the game.

I didn't state once that I thought the E3 build was better, I specifically left my opinion out of the video so people could come to their own conclusions. The general consensus on the forum was "This was better. What happened?" Was it not? Did I tell people to say that or did I give them the information they needed to come to that conclusion on their own?

Frankly, I'm still not happy with the E3 build and that's part of the reason I didn't voice my opinion in the video. It may have been better in some aspects but I feel that it still wasn't good enough. The "Critical Burst" mechanic? It was a half-assed approach to try and appeal to the "one stun, launch" crowd that preferred DOA1-3's gameplay while still giving the newer crowd a few chances of escape. Then they basically took it completely away by making the threshold requirement higher and giving you just as many chances as in DOA4 to escape. Sure, a few of the stuns may be unholdable for a few frames but most of the cast has to play the stun guessing game in order to get a Critical Burst and that completely defies the point of the Critical Burst. That's just one example of Team Ninja's half-assed attempts to reconcile both sides in DOA5 and failing terribly. In my opinion, they need to either start over completely from scratch or use a much older version of the game as a base for the future. Either way, they can't keep trying to build off the mess that is DOA4.

When he first started the topic, I kept it open because actual discussion was going on. When it became obvious he intended to use it to just stir shit up, I killed it.
Again, I had no intention ever of "stirring shit." You stirred the shit, sir.

By the way, thanks for the thread and kicking me while I'm down when I could really use some support. Much appreciated.

I doubt he'll respond, and even if he does, I'd wager a conversation such as that belongs in private messages. Airing out dirty laundry is all well and good, so long as it's away from public eyes.

I want a "Shit we Gained" thread. Laundry stays clean with Gain.

You're blatantly lying and spreading misinformation about me. How am I the bad guy?

I read everything you wrote and you're right, you have done a lot for the community. You're probably not entirely wrong either.

Manny told me something about Rikuto a few years back that me and him ended up arguing about in a thread I think most us remember. Manny was saying that team ninja didn't listen to Rikuto all that much because he was so negative on Doa4, vocally so.

How true that is? Who knows but I do know that he doesn't go around calling their game garbage and telling them such. If you want to change things it's much easier when you're perceived as a friend and not an enemy.

Haven't lied about a thing.
Except I had to write an essay to correct every single one of your points. I hate essays.

In your mind you can do no wrong. That's pretty obvious.
Care to point to factual examples of my wrong-doing? I've read enough of your fan fiction this week.

I read everything you wrote and you're right, you have done a lot for the community.
I don't think that was a point I made and I don't actually think I have done much for the community but thanks.

Modding 4, video uploads, helping on the forum and supporting the game with your wallet - that's much more than most do.

Didn't you host the old podcast for a while?

It's a sad thing when you spend so much effort to "correct" something you believe to be lies with your own brand of fabrications. Worse yet when you actually start to believe it yourself.

I hate essays too. That's why I'm not bothering to respond to it in depth. Would take forever and I've deduced that, after my 20th attempt to mend fences, you're no longer worth salvaging.
