After seeing Honoka and Marie Rose becoming playable characters. Im shocked Team Ninja seems to be ashamed of Irene, I hope shes playable one day. Maybe Warrior Orochi 4?
What are Irene chances being a DLC character?

The answer is always the same: after Marie Rose TN always brought back characters or movesets from the past for the new entries; following this trend Irene is always been one of the candidates with high chances to become DLC being a woman, highly requested, having already a modern in-game model, having already a place in the Doa plot and having the possibility to appear as a fighter in a logical way for her background.
Honestly, as starting characters for the DoA5LR roster, in an objective way Raidou and Honoka would have got the priority on Irene even for me: Raidou, after Bankotsubo replaced from Nyotengu, was the last real DoA veteran still missing (Genra, Kasumi Alpha - replaced from Phase 4 - and Shiden appear more as bonus characters being playable only in Dimensions). Honoka, contrarily to Irene, is a never seen before character that bring news from an appearence point of view (even if from a fighting point an hypothetical character using a new style as Krav Maga or Judo would appear more as a news).
More, Raidou is thought to appeal the fanbase asking for characters more cool and serious as overall many (but not the majority) Western fans seem to ask, on the opposite Honoka is more close to the idea of pretty character liked from the Japanese fanbase. Through their inclusion in DoA5LR TN tried to appeal both the categories (whatever Irene can be popular or less in Japan, she is definitely a Western character far from Honoka's kind of).
Anyway now that new DLC characters were unofficially announced in 2 circumstances, maybe the door is still open for the "sea swallow".
