Tbh DOA started dubbing with DOA2 but I think Itagaki thought it was done so mediocre and somewhat comically at times that they didn't even consider dubs in future games until DOAX2 where they started again.
Overall I liked the VAs from X2 and Paradise since they fit the characters well, Kasumi sounded girly and shy, Helena sounded authentic in her French accent, and I can say everyone did well, which is likely why Eiden Regel still voices Hitomi and why Karen Strassman picked her back up in 5 onwards. I didn't like Ayane's voice I'm X2/Paradise since she sounded more like a mean girl but not a hint of kunoichi status or even backstory was drenched in her voice, same with Kasumi although Kasumi's made sense for the time and Kari Walgren changed up her voice direction in Dimensions to make her more sad and somber towards the end.
In 5 onwards, I think the current voices are still good, Lauren Landa taking over as Kasumi was OK since they both have a similar range but Lauren has a more feisty tone which I think fits Kasumi better in her new personality change where she's no longer unwilling to fight. Ayane was a bad choice to change since Brittany didn't do that great, Janice Kawaye or Wendee Lee who voiced her prior should have did the job but Wendee did shift to Lisa which I think was a still a fit.
I can't say any DOA girl currently has a bad voice atm, only think I wish was that Mai, Kula, and Tamaki would have had proper dubs since Japanese with their voice types is only intriguing for so long before it gets grating against a full English dub cast
