3 characters, button layout, evasion, frame advantage and general frame data usage, etc. . . and it has a tutorial that teaches the basics/terminology that 3D fighters use.
1. 3 characters and they play nothing like their counter parts in VF:FS. So you're learning a new character if you main one of them. 3 characters is not a lot that carries over from VF:FS even if they did play exactly the same.
2. A button layout is also nothing. A person can still get that same layout with DOA4,3, 2U, etc.
3. Lmao, the frame advantage in VF:FS is not comparable to DOA5. Anyone coming to DOA5 from VF:FS with that preception is bound to get fucked over royaly.
4. Where did you read that DOA5 explains how to use frame data? Or did I read that wrong? If not this is a feature in the game and nothing apart of gameplay to carry over from VF:FS. However, if DOA5 does explain frame data usage, this is a significant feature.
5. FSD has a wiki that lists our exact terminology as well as basic terminology for 3D fighters. So, no need to load up VF:FS for that.
I already mentioned evasive (side step) which is the only significant thing that can help prepare for DOA5.
Like I said, I'd advise someone to play Doa4 to prepare for DOA5.
You know what, he's been playing DOA3.1, yeah, keep playing that if you really want to prepare for DOA5. It's your best bet given the current options. Well if you play Busa you can play the alpha demo if you have it. He's good in that demo and has only gotten better since then.
