Which DOA to play in preparation for 5?

Being negative on block doesn't necessarily mean unsafe. Some moves in DOA are -1 to -5. That's considered safe in the franchise because it doesn't guarantee anything to the blocker. The same happens in Virtua. Some moves are like -3 but they don't give anything for free.

Still, I hear people complain about too many moves in DOA being unsafe or negative on block and almost no safe moves.

No its Newborn Athelete

The game is a lot like DOA2U so I would play that, but seeing as that doesn't have online capabilities I'd just fool around with the Alpha and DOA4. While DOA4 may not be the best its still DOA just like DOA5 is still DOA lol.
Still has the basic DOA fundamentals

Negative on block is not a bad thing in and of itself, just being unsafe on block. Most moves should be negative on block in a 3d fighter or it ruins the give and take of it.

ALL DOA6 DOA5 DOA4 DOA3 DOA2U DOAD
