I think Jacky will fare a bit better than the rest, only because like others have stated he's in the same tier as Sarah (if not even a bit better.) A lot of people will try to use him like Jann Lee, most will fail and the people that do use him will be users from Virtua Fighter or players that really want to learn him. He will probably be the least played new character just because of how hard it is to actually use him. Momiji will be the most used, probably tied with Kasumi all the time in tag, so if a player knows what they are doing she could be hard to deal with. Both of those ninjas, no thanks. Can't really say about the rest. I'm sure many others will try Rachel but I don't think she'll be a threat unless someone knows how to use her. I think they'll be a lot of spamming with her. Ein will be used a lot, maybe even more than Momiji. Seems he was the most wanted character. As for dealing with him, can't really say as I've never played against him other than CPU, and that wasn't a challenge. Leon... still unsure with.

It's hard to say but my guess is Momiji. She has a lot of interesting moves, and I have a feeling it will be harder to adapt to her than we might think.

If Jacky has to CB options, that would be nuts. A high is already a plus in that aspect.

Eins will be very easy to deal with, same with Rachel. A lot of newcomers and vets will use him (some will use Rachel too) but only the specialists (TechRisingX, Me) or high level players with great fundamentals (ElectrifiedMann, SweetRevenge, etc) will be a real threat with him. Again, same for Rachel.

Bring on the wannabe fodders.

My sister's no wannabe, but you can teach her if you want.

The responses have been pretty...predictable as of late. Anyone out there (I know you're out there) believe that Leon or Ein will make it out on top. After all Ein has an OH now.

He had that in DOA4 and it didn't jump him anywhere significant on the tier list then.

Basically: no. I don't see either being high tier, and to be at the "top" of the new characters basically means being a Top Tier character overall, considering we're getting a new VF.

8K and CB could be SDS's on NH that guarantee a CB/Launch, 7K could be unholdable, 3P could still be safe, 3K could sit-down crouching opponents, 236K and 46K could both be unholdable guard breaks on block, a lot of moves could made a fair deal safer and he STILL wouldn't be as good as Jacky or any of the other current top tiers for reasons I can explain if you want me to.

And chances are Ein probably won't have even half of what I just named. So far he's "the same as DOA4" as they said except 8P SDS has been replaced with a less useful bound state, 6P+K has been made 5 frames slower and reduced to CB status, and 3K's SDS has been seemingly taken away. It even looks like they might have removed his 1KK > 4H+K, 1K6PK threshold combo. He's more like watered down DOA4 Ein from what I've seen.

So no, top tier Ein in particular is a long shot. We'll be lucky if he ends up high tier. I wouldn't get your hopes up. The predictable predictions are the realistic ones.

Honestly Leon has no shot of being top simply for the fact that hes a grappler and other than DOA3 the grapplers are all mid to low tier in every other DOA and i don't see that changing with 5U. I definitely don't see him in the same boat as vanilla 5 Bass and will probably be a solid mid along with Bayman. we already know some of his buffs from his DOA4 iteration like gaining easier access to his air throw, being able to aim where he throws them, properties of his strings that now launch instead of knocking back like 3PK plus the addition of a new ground bounce throw giving him far more launch options than in four. He also supposedly has a new hit throw which could be useful depending on what it is and its damage properties.

We also know he still has his 33P high crushing sitdown stun which may or may not give him a free launcher with 214P depending on how much advantage hes at after fastest stagger escape, He retained all his mixups from 6PP, P6P, which both can be finished with a mid punch knock back, a mid kick stun, or a tracking low sweep that does the holdable sitdown stun on NH. He retained his tackle OH which works great at mid range and is a great whiff punisher and of course he still has his expert use of danger zones with a majority of his throws hurling opponents a good distance on top of his aim-able air throw mentioned above(you launch someone and finish em off with an air throw and you see theres a wall or cliff a few feet to your left, no problem aim toward it and hurl that son of a bitch into it)

All this plus the universal buff grapplers got with guaranteed ground throws off of slam attacks and Leon has some of the most damaging ground grabs with his dervish ground combo throw for leg ground grapples and his mount tackle+followups on head ground grapples.

We still haven't even seen a fraction of what hes capable of and hes already looking like a big improvement over his 4 version which is all that i ask

I think the brand new characters (Rachel & Momiji) will bring some problems being that the options in this game are so big & team ninja has made some characters really strong for no reason.

we already know Jacky boy is a powerhouse lmfaoo I just hope their smart enough to not give him two CB's like Ayane. & it's not like you can patch him up SEGA has those rights on lock with their characters' frames

Am I the only one who finds it strange that Momiji & Rachel are turning out to be a lot like they were in NG as far peoples' collective opinion of them?

Back in NG Sigma 2, people said Rachel was the best, Momiji was average and Ayane was the worst. Is this some kind of weird parallel or something?
