Why do people do these two things?

I don't understand mashing 33 pre-match either, it totally gives away your intentions (mid punch lol). Sometimes what I'll do though is hold 2 then surprise them with a 7k (not w/Mila obviously). I never see that with 33 mashers, though it might be because I always beat them out. Spacing/shuffling during match? That's actually useful, I'm too lazy to do it though

I always get in people's face with Zack before the round starts. I go in a lot with 2p, duck mix ups. Or just ppkk (they always try to counter the mid kicks, but I've already cancelled the string and continue Zacking them).

I usually just stand there before the match starts. Most players try to hump me and go for a mid or a high. More than half the time I just read and counter it.

Some players like to try to freestep behind me when I do that though, so for them, I move around a bit to avoid the disadvantage.

1) Before the round starts keep shuffling directly into the middle of my chest. As in, keep going forward, into me, before the round has even started.

2) During rounds, shuffle around in place.

I see literally no purpose to these. I mean...I can see a theoretical purpose, but I can't see a practical one. The first one...Can't see a point because all it does is get them countered or punted backwards.

Second one...I guess they are trying to psyche me out or something? Doesn't work, because they only seem to do it when i'm just...standing there waiting for them to finish shuffling for no reason lol.

1) Mainly to try and get the first hit. I don't do that since, According to Web Head, I have SAMURAI SPIRIT. I just stand still and make my move after the round starts.

2) It's always best to stay on the move in a fighting game. In my case, standing in place to wait for my opponent to attack or going forward head on doesn't keep my feet on the ground for very long. Being on the move at all times is very essential for not only defense, but building focus into the fight at hand.

Freestep behind the back.

TETSZANKOU UP THE BUM!
I have yet to have someone free step behind me before a match starts, but I'm getting tired of running into the leg humpers |: |

1) If I'm on the left side, I do it just to see Christie's boobs jiggle.

2) If I'm on the right side, I do it just to see Christie's ass jiggle in her Vampirella costume.

Spacing will work offine but I don't think it will work when facing human opponents online. :(

Also because I'm fairly good at reading people.

LOL!

You can't read people in the beginning of the match. That isn't reading, that is guessing. Reading means learning the move patterns a player does over time.
Also, DOA_Eater rushes in with Tina, it usually works because you have to guess between 3 different patterns.

Stuff like this is why "yomi" is misused as much as they're, their, and there.

Pressure is fun. I always "66666666666666666666666666666", at the beginning of a match.

It puts me in a better position because many times, keep out moves are my worst enemy, though they generally are slow meaning that if I'm in the opponents face, just about anything I do will level down their options, making them lock up sometimes, giving me a free grab or free stun.

People that like to Zone, or play a completely mid ranged game and keep you out, often fall apart under pressure. That being said, I'm a different type, and there are many like me that have the same problem. We fall apart under pressure so to make up for that, instead of keeping them out, we maintain the pressure so that we don't have to worry about falling under it.

It's to bait out a hold generally. I do it mostly to characters with a faster jab or mid than I have the ability to crush or beat out. If the opponent flinches, you can immediately start applying pressure. If they don't bite and instead just attack anyway, it informs me for the next round. Solid play regardless. Moving around between rounds is usually just when the person likes to be doing something constantly. No real reason otherwise.

Well, this is why I sometimes do it. Especially with Helena, I want people to think I'm going to throw out a :3::3::P: and what better way to do it then to look like you're mashing the crap out of the input rofl. But in all seriousness most of the time I do it then end up guarding, I'm just impatient and want the game to start already. It also depends on the character, characters that have speedy moves I usually do it with, but with characters that work better at a distance I tend to start strafing backwards.

It really depends on the character im using and my opponent... If i know im faster then them yeah i ll try to pressure from the start if im against a speedy char i ll go for a hold block or crush
