It's nice to think that if you ever faught yourself you'd win. But know this, even if you do win simply through force of will is that will CONSISTANT? You can beat yourself in that moment? But what about every moment everyday? Can you stay at super saiyan CONSISTANTLY? Can you do the super move taught to you by the master in situations that are not life and death?
The inner you in which the water fall makes you see or the villians spell makes you face or they mystical master tests you with is in truth with you at all times. You want this, you tell yourself you can't do it. You believe this, that inner you makes you doubt it. You believe in your partners, not if these seeds of doubt have anything to do about it! Your losing to him all the time and he KNOWS this. Now that you SEE him you say you'll never give up? YOU GIVE UP TO HIM EVERYTIME YOU SAY CAN'T!
You think he has the same powers as you? The same moves as you? the same thought process as you. THIS IS A LIE! There is one power that he DOES NOT HAVE and is the only POWER THAT MATTERS: He cannot LOVE. As such, in truth he has no power.
This is wisdom. This is a solution.
