Nah man, it's cool.
The way I see it is that the results tell the team what style of costumes their customers want.
The team is Japanese and so they some(most) times will only think to make costumes Japan would like.
Of course, it doesn't help matters when Asia (Japan) buys the most DLC out of any region, and it also doesn't help that you can call the situation a "Chicken & Egg" situation.
But I look at the contest results as giving them an idea for what style the Western countries enjoy, female or male characters.

The only one from the Top 10 that I see has a high chance to get the entry turned into a costume is Kasumi's blue kimono + dental floss since it also happens to be Hayashi's personal favorite.
I think some others have a decent shot as well. Tyaren's Eliot (or a variation of it) I believe will be included, since it won first and honestly, Eliot is a character they seem willing to experiment with.

out of curiosity, why don't you think the others in top 10 will become dlc?
To be honest, I quite often wonder, if being first place (the actual winner of the whole contest) does raise the chances of realization...or if it doesn't mean much in the end. TN said, that they will pick designs for future DLC themselves, unrelated to the voting results. But a first place, with about 100 votes advance to place 2...isn't this a really strong argument...? I have no clue...and somehow, sadly, I don't see my design in the game... :/
That's not what Rawbie said. Rawbie said, Kimono Kasumi is the only one, that has a high chance to become DLC.

I don't mean to worry ya, but only real reason I can think of it not being fully in game, is it has too many small details. lookit the winners outfits in 4. they were relatively simple. iI think it has a chance of a variation of it making it in though. But as for dlc choices...I think the only way the contest won't influence TNs choices, is if they already picked in the weeks after submissions ended, but before community voting was done. otherwise, popular vote probably holds some sway.

It's a "guess what TN's thinking" game however I'm going to go out on a ledge and predict that TN will rely more on votes for male outfits as opposed to females. The reason being is that female DLC outfits are clearly TN's forte. They know what sells and they have a much higher interest in what the DOA ladies wear so they're not necessarily looking at the votes as closely. DLC for the guys on the other hand have consistently shown not to sell well and so they may need to see which entries were more popular among the public. I'm sure it won't be the case for every male (assuming each character gets an outfit) but they seem to have less investment in the male characters (notice not a single male entry was a staff favorite and there were plenty of awesome ones).

I do hope they would even exert the time and effort to create a costume for him or any of the guys and not turn it so half-baked because like what @David Gregg said, they have less investment on them thus less dedication.
It is because that particular entry has more of a sure-fire chance than the rest:
a) It's one of the Top 10 overall entries.
b) It's Hayashi's personal favorite.
c) It's the poster ninja of the game.

And the pièces de résistance... The prizes which happens to be some MR blanket (which doesn't really feel like a blanket) and the DOA5 Art Book.
Overall, I'm happy that I received this before moving out of the city in the next few days. I wish I could have received the Kasumi letterman jacket instead of the MR blanket. I really love the art book for the most part.

The texture doesn't feel cottony to be a towel though. The fabric feels like velvet.
