Characters Raidou revealed in latest issue of Famitsu!

Update: Trailer has been released!

Famitsu has announced that one of the two new characters is the Dead or Alive boss Raidou. He has been altered for his appearance in Last Round. His body has been augmented to cybernetic technology. He's not the same ninja he used to be, but Raidou displays a big build, electric moves and a cyborg body. If you thought he looked evil before... just look at him now. A menacing face, a darker tone, and the cyborg attributes really add an even scarier aspect to the Dead or Alive boss.

His story is as follows:

After being killed by an explosion during the First
Dead or Alive Tournament, Raidou was pieced back together,
outfitted with cybernetic parts, and brought back to life by
Donovan. As a side effect he has lost all memories of his past,
and retains only his natural lust for power.

Fighting Style:
Raidou's fighting style is Mugen Tenshin Ninjutsu at its core,
but he builds upon this with techniques he has stolen from
various fighters. Unlike fellow Mugen Tenshin Ninjutsu practitioners
Kasumi and Hayate, he favors moves that make the most of his size and power.
He has also developed some techniques of his own,
such as Tengeki-Gorai-Sho and Rekku-Jinraisatsu.

Raidou is the older brother of Kasumi's father Shiden, and biological father to Ayane. Known for being a copy-cat character, the exiled ninja ambushed the Mugen-Tenshin clan to steal their special technique: the Torn Sky Blast.

Don't understand the sex change/no sex change logic at all, but having Raidou back is cool.

This is the "price" to pay for getting Tengu's moveset as a DLC character under the current policy of Tecmo Koei: the company doesn't believe in the success of elements not directly related to the fanservice, and this is the outcome.

With Raidou people can't simply choose to not get it, because he is part of the "Last Round pack" and his addition come together with all the rest (new female, new outfits, new stages new hairstyles, ecc...) in both the cases you decide to buy the full game or to upgrade Ultimate. From this point there is no "risk" compared to put in game a male DLC character (putting aside that in my opinion people would buy easily a cyborg or a "monster" as addition)

I'm not saying that who dislike Raidou has to lie and to show to everyone how much he/she love the character, but if people wish for a slighty chance to get a new male character as eventual DLC for Last Round, the right move to do is to look now for personal positive aspects behind the presence of Raidou and to make know them to TN and so indirecty to Tecmo Koei (the same reasoning for the recent cop outfits on Rig and Bass as test for getting future outfits for the less popular characters of the roster).

After playing as Dural in VF5, I was hoping to get a similar character in DOA5U.
Welcome back, Raidou. Hoping to get some good times in LR.

Part of me would like an arcade boss but then I remember what a joyless, rage-inducing experience that was in past DOA games. I still refuse to play as Alpha-152 because of DOA4

In the general list of casual requests for LR that some users of FSD sent to TN (and that Tom Lee confirmed to have got) we asked for an arcade boss, now we have to see if a such request will be approved or less =)

Punch launcher (I want to say it's Leon's?)
Looks kinda like his 3P but a lot faster, more along the lines of Hayabusa's 8P.

Leon's :4::H+P: (choke throw) but throws the opponent behind him.
Looks more like Bass' 236P H+P without the punch lead in (and as an OH by the looks of it). And I think you mean 6H+P, 4H+P is the Shoulder Slam.

AND Raidou gets his projectile back. Maybe Hayabusa will get his?

Raidou does have ryus 8p in doad, its likely that's it. He also has a 33k knee move that I think is zacks? or janns? I know it has really funny relaunch capabilities.

Eh, the projectile is complete crap, even if ryu gets his back it doesn't mean anythin unless they change it drastically.

Under that logic, they know we're going to hate the female. Another clone, maybe?

I expect it to be completely original character. Not a clone of anything.
Yea after all TN did say the male would be a resurrected character and he male would be made from
Scratch and would be the "biggest" female. My only question are we talking boon, stomach or height?

due to the current trend in pop culture I would assume she has the biggest butt but since this is a japanese developer enormous breasts would be more plausible.

he is hella lame.. seems like DOA has no badass villian.
hopefully they have put much more effort into the other DLC char. i want her personality and her looks to be completely different from what have with the current roster.

This is wrong because there are no characters that exclude another: showing to like a male character doesn't mean necessarily to hate the female ones, just to show to TK how the players of DoA are not eager only of the sexy factor in the girls, but even on the cool factor in the males (exactly how works for all the fighting series out there).

TK believe that the success of DoA is only on the sexiness of the female characters and it's incredible when you think that for this reason the same Hayabusa, whose huge popularity is confirmed, is put on background for this reasoning.
