Day 10 of IPL's 12 Days of DOA: Game Play Footage Set 1

Day 10 of IGN Pro League's 12 Days of Dead or Alive 5 has arrived. Today they bring a few game play matches from their staff of players who have had some time with the August game build.

The characters in battle are Ayane, Bass, Eliot, Hayate, La Mariposa, Jann Lee, Lei Fang, and Rig. We also get to see the new stage "Home" and the tigers are finally shown off in "The Show". Personally, the tigers don't look anywhere near as annoying as Dead or Alive 4's cheetah because they are triggered by hitting the wall danger zone and the ring master announces their departure. You be the judge. All the matches from set one are on display below, but be sure to check out more info from doa.ign.com. My personal favorites are the Jann Lee & Hayate matches, and any match that has Bass winning. What can I say? I'm a pro wrestling fan. I just wish I could have seen his F5.

Why the hell should player 1 have an answer to it? player 2 ALREADY FUCKED UP BY MISSING THE HOLD, why should player 1 adjust to player 2s fuck up when player 1 ALREADY DID THE RIGHT THING by getting the hit/stun in? Are you fucking kidding me?

Why do some people here think that defence happens ONCE youve gotten hit and that mixups happen AFTER you got oppened up? What in the world are you all smoking?

Although I agree with you, I think you should calm down before you have a stroke. Swearing and cruise control caps doesn't get your point across any better.

 

Hahaha i'm atheist, but i tell you what i'm think: i'm very happy with this "problem". I really hate, losing 65% of my health bar, just for not be capable to escape of a fucking string (not combo). The root of the problem is given by the duration of stuns, incredibly long (like no other fighting game). Competitively this may be worse, but for me, that play only casually, just for fun, is excellent.

I'm deeply saddened to see the BT pick-up 33P go.

PS: I miss the times of Street Fighter 2 Turbo. No eternal juggles, no autocombos, no eternal stuns. Just a fair fight.

It's opinions from guys like MASTER that resulted in us being shit on with DOAD. It's just another DOA4 with 3 pt holds...DOA5 however is on the right path.

I think some people should remember that with the new unholdable stuns, whether or not they can recover faster is irrelevant because you should be aiming to avoid the stun game entirely or as much as possible.

As i see, DoA 5 is Virtuafighterizing
-Useful Side Steps
-Interruptible strings with a simple block.
-Faster holds.
-Less common critical jabs, unlike DoA 4. (obviating the CB)
-Akira and Sarah lol

On FT 2H+P: 41236F+P or 33P

On BT 2H+P: 66F 4F+P or 33P

Off of 33P he can do 6KP to get a free FT 2F+P
Off of 1P_9PK2P CH he can get a free BT 2F+P

That's the basics, it depends on what the opponent knows, environment situation, and weight class on what's guaranteed. Uphill or BT into wall gave him free 33P because the backdash from the opponent couldn't avoid the hit box. On all heavy characters, Helena, and Leifang the 33P was guaranteed.

If a person attempted to Backdash, Bass could dash in and do 4F+P during the backdash recovery.

In both the FT and BT 2H+P situations it was a 50/50 and required reaction time to successfully beat. The 33P would be unsafe but hit crouchers, attackers, or throwers, and the 41236F+P was the same speed but would throw attackers, standing guard, and holders. Both options would put him in another FT 2F+P option. It would loop as long as you weren't reacting and kept guessing wrong.

I believe you could technically avoid both options if you just backdashed but who uses movement in DOA anyways?

Keep in mind that Bayman and Leifang didn't have their back-turned parries which they do now in DOA5.

I just cant believe some1 believes it is a good thing to not get punished for fuk ups but hey... its a video game, nothing more, nothing less. Persona 4 is coming out in Europe pretty soon, and ill have my hands full with that anyway.

Ill buy the game anyway, but im dissapointed, TN is fucking up again :/
