Why does Ein still exist?

What's really tough is connecting the dots...

As an example: Ein is the clone of Hayate

Issues: Hayate knows Karate. How did he learn it? When he was EIN, he was taught by Hitomi's Father. If DOA5U Ein is a clone, when was he created?

With the lab explosion where he escaped and discovered by Hitomi, at that moment he didn't know Karate. If there was a clone made of him before the explosion, there's no way he could've picked up on that Karate unless by some luck he ended up at another dojo... OR...

Hayate was captured again BEFORE the DOA2 tournament... and cloned... therefore two Ein's. Then again assuming all DOATEC needed is DNA to clone him at that exact moment, through any of his fights in the DOA2 tournaments, Helena could've gotten a hold of his hair... Lisa too... bam. Two Ein's.

and the last but least likely to happen... Hitomi has been keeping secrets in her closet... that secret being an Ein clone she found whom she taught their style of Karate to.

It's not enough to just say Ein in DOA5U is a clone of Hayate. It's gotta make sense.
Kasumi Alpha: "Hmph. Helena if you REALLY want to know the truth, then Daddy says you'll need to get another sample of Eins DNA."
Helena: ". . .*Looks out the window*"
Helena vs Ein: "You fight like a girly man" "You can't take a joke" she could've lost on Purpose and secretly gained another sample when she threw the match but of course Kas-alpha tricked her :u does this make sense?

Can't they just make it so that it it IS Hayate, but he's just fighting with a different move set? That was how they did it in Blazblue. Noel canonically was freed from the brainwash of her Kusanagi power, but in the next game they explained that she wanted to learn how to use that power so she could use it for the greater good etc etc, justifying the appearance of her other form. It doesn't have to be an amnesic Ein in the next game. They could probably just use a much simpler reason to justify his conclusion, IE fighting with the Karate style for nostalgia or something like that. I'm sure someone could come up with a more interesting story.

Like they did in DOA4? Where Hitomi finds Hayate but spars with him using karate?

Because aside from the name at the top, that's exactly what they did in DOA4, and presumably DOA5. As far a the name goes, I would much rather have "Ein" up there than "Hayate (Karate)" or something like that. I think every sane person would agree.

Ah, is that how they did it? I never owned a 360 so I ever ended up getting 4. I agree that Ein should remain his name for the distinction though.

It's simple... Ein is waaay cooler than Hayate ever will be.

Ein has a brash and arrogant personality(e.g. He smirks in almost all his win poses) and has cool intros and outros. While Hayate... His only expression is straight faced and has the personality of a wall.

The appeal behind Ein more than just his moveset, in contrast Ein is almost a completely different person than Hayate is.

Adding to this, Ein also has one of THE best and memorable themes in the whole series. Seriously, Vigaku is absolutely godlike.
Also, Ein's got the cool shades.

Couldn´t have said it better! ;)

Hmm dissociative identity disorder? Like when he puts on those shades he becomes Ein? Like a DoA version of Clark Kent.

Fanservice, that's all

but honestly his presence has been kinda questionable since the 3rd game since he technically doesn't exist anymore, I remember when I saw him in 3 and i was like "okay, it's cool that they made him an unlockable character, i can dig it" and when he showed up in 4, specifically in hitomi's final cut scene (not the pre-rendered one)i was like "NO NO NO NO NO, THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE!" i'm not even that big on DOA's story but even that kinda made me mad, and now that he's in 5 im just like "meh, w/e, i guess this is cool", which it kinda is. I love Ein, hell he was my main in DOA2 which is one of my favorite games of all time, but even I want to see this character put to rest.

I think Ein still exists because he's just like any DOA character, he has his share of fans and suddenly cutting him out the game would alienate people who mained him. Plus he's simple to pick up and play and has one of the most lowest learning curves of the game.

Thing is even his fans don't really give a fuck about him anymore since he will never evolve from his DOA2 iteration. fans were hoping he'd get new tools and evolved movelist that take advantage of the new gameplay systems introduced in the latest DOA only for him to continue to be copied and pasted with little to no changes with most of his changes being for the worse... I mean ein fans were actually celebrating him finally getting a 1p...thats the low standard TN has set for the character and his fans.

Ein still brings alot to the table that Hitomi doesn't, he still needs to exist imo.

Hitomi doesn't feel the same at all, not to mention she doesn't have his 3P, WRK, OH or Hokage (barely even Hayate has that anymore...), his 1K force ups(Hitiomi's doesn't) and his 46P clears most of the map.
They're like completely different characters, with different play styles.

^This. I get wrecked every time I try playing Hitomi because I try playing her as him (something you obviously should not do for this reason).

I would like for Ein to be in future DOAs, but the fact that they're never gonna change him really saddens me. You can play him in DOA2 and then in DOA5LR with no problems, something you can't do with any of the other characters. Even characters like (Nyo)Tengu and Leon (don't know about Gen Fu) did have new tools if you compare them with their DOA2 iterations, Ein just got 214K in DOA5U and 1P in DOA5LR, that's it.

Hitomi's a power house, Ein's... more... pokey? Hitomi can poke to but just not as well. Ein was a power house character in DOA4 but not anymore. Also I guess, Ein is still apart of Hayate, his "fun" personality. It's not like he woke up one day and forgot Karate.
