Well thats good thats been clarified... I seriously thought he had only one that parries both highs and mids from watching the streams the other day and i thought it might be a bit too much...

Just out of curiosity assuming lei fang still got her parries from neutral how much advantage does she get? Anything guarranteed? Or hitomi from her punch parries

didnt they say all parrys gave you advantage unlike 4?

Buffed to his level? He has ONE thing that is going to be "annoying". He is DoA 4 Eliot except now he has a good interrupter (which he didn't have in 4) and he can launch you from his parries for some damage.

How could you possibly buff something to that level when it is like the bare minimum.

-Strings still poo especially since there is a side step now
-He has a decent low but still not that strong since only one follow up and you can react to that or struggle the stun.
-A reliable juggle from his launcher now
-A 9 frame high attack which is basically his "I am really slow so they gave me an attack to get you off me from constant pressure." However the move has no follow ups and he isn't fast enough to continue pressure after it's blocked.
-Not fast at all
-His strings are also slow so he can't really free cancel and throw you a lot.

Now I'm not saying he is a bad character but I am saying in reality all they did was give him some tools to compete finally. I think he will be annoying as balls to fight but not top tier because he will still have the same problems he had in 4.

Honestly, asking to nerf a character a month before the game is released is just weird in my opinion

I disagree with this. You can step his strings, but he can also free cancel and throw you at any point. Throws track.

Also, his low is really good. It's moderately difficult to react to, and you can't really counter the follow-up on reaction. You have to anticipate the follow-up and counter early to get it. This allows him to free cancel and throw you. You also can't slow escape fast enough to avoid the follow-up.

His strings are slow, but that actually makes it easier for him to free cancel and throw you.

I think he's top tier not counting the VF characters. Below Jann Lee and maybe a couple others, but still top tier.

I'd love to see a complete tier list from you when the game is closer to release. I know it may sound silly to request one so prematurely in the game's lifespan, but just having any kind of idea on where some of the characters stand (the ones you didn't cover in the IGN breakdowns) would be immensely helpful. But I know you're probably ridiculously busy ;)

I'd like to post one on day 1. It would have to be HEAVILY disclaimered as I don't want anyone thinking it's anywhere near a solid, final tier list... but I'd be up for doing one with proper explanations.

You'd have to ask Sorwah though. He made it pretty clear he doesn't want any tier lists posted within the first month or so.

Because Bryan hates Hayabusa. When the strategy guide comes out, Hayabusa will have his own pages for the Character section on the Table of Contents, but upon flipping to said pages you will find they simply DO NOT EXIST.

Thanks! How come there isnt any for the shinobis?

Lol it's funny because I find that most of the top level players don't particularly like the ninjas too much. It's mostly because a larger part of the scrubs and casuals only play the ninjas.

Personally, I've never played a DoA game before so I'm still highly intrigued by them lol

MASTER, myself, Allan Paris, Demon, Silent Legend, sWooZie, and Perfect Legend are all players known to either main a ninja or frequently use them at tournaments. That's just a small list, too. They're very popular with all players, not just the casuals or scrubs.

Yes, and you guys are most of the players I watch most when available :)

Welp I guess it's been figured out now that DrDogg clarified as well as Chris H.

Another thing that hasn't been mentioned, is his 10 hit combo that was added, though, I wouldn't blame people for brushing it off, I mean, what are the chances of landing a combo like that on a pro player? Chances are people are going to study that and find out where the hits end up, and hold with not problem on it.

Personally, I would've liked to have seen 5 changes ups added to his combos instead. Like for example for i believe it's 3f+k p(his signature low kick to mid palm launcher), i would like to see maybe a mid knee come into play as a nice change up so that it can keep people guessing.

Eliot might be top tier, but deep down we all know, like what's been said, he's gunna face those doa4 problems again, it's just, now he's got the tools to atleast have a chance, if you've got the mindset to use him right.

Good stuff! Don't let the popularity of the character you want to play dissuade you at all. Looks like you're interested in Ayane? Pay close attention to Demon. Silent Legend had a brutal one back in the 2U days, too. You're in good company around here.
