Tabata:
"Final Fantasy 15's female hero deserves the spotlight.
I really do have that desire to depict Luna as an even stronger female personality.
Obviously the first mission is to get ‘Episode Ignis’ [the third piece of story-based DLC] out."

At first I was like:
Uhhh...what female hero???
There is no female hero, as in heroic main character or protagonist, in the game. The main character would be Noctis and to a lesser extend Ignis, Gladio and Prompto maybe.
It's way too late now to make Luna a main character in this game. They'd have to completely rewrite the base game for that to happen.
Can they also please shut up with the "strong" or "even stronger female" BS? Luna is none of that. They haven't cared at all to create a strong character with her. Not in the base game and not in the rest of the FFXV universe.
(FFXV base game)
(Kingsglaive)
(Omen trailer)
(That shitty mobile game)
All empty marketing nonsense...
Okay first of all omg lol the mobile gif where she just frame by frame pushes her away made me die. But seriously...what?! The cheek lol to claim that Luna is a "hero" in XV. No....She just isn't. In Kingsglaive her thunder is stolen in every scene by Nyx who will stop at nothing to make sure that she doesn't do anything cool.
Try to pilot? Nope.
Try to jump to a balcony? Nope.
Try to fight off a single person? Nope.
And In the game she's barely in the bloody game after how much they promoted her as this amazing important character and then the best thing she does ( Which is cool ) Is fight off Leviathan...for a while. ( Which also destroyed an entire city but that isn't the point. ) Why did she summon Leviathan again? I've forgot. But then she just get's backhanded anyway and then she's gone. the end of her story.
And I say all of this as a fan of FFXV and as someone that does like Lunafreya I just wish they'd done more with her. Obviously I'll be happy if she gets an episode or something but I don't know how they'd do that.
Oh and yeah the biggest female hero in XV is Aranea if it's anyone tbh.
I don't think they meant Luna to be physically strong, but more like "strong-willed".
I honestly expected her to be a character like Yuna, considering what they said about her before the game was released. Was Yuna a (physically) strong character who probably would have reacted differently in those situation? I don't really see her in doing so, but I still consider her as a very strong character, if not the "strongest" of FFX.
But I see the point, Luna is not shown to be strong-willed person (or not entirely from what was shown) nor an aggressive/cool type like Aranea, she's simply neither of those. We do not know and what the little they've shown in the game surely didn't help in us having a better opinion/view on the character.
Not to mention that Kingsglaive Luna and XV Luna seem like they're different character.
I'm looking forward to an eventual episode Luna since she's the character I was interest the most, but of course it is not gonna magically fix what's in the base game, and that's another thing..... I do not think any story related DLC can really fix the story (unless they plan on making hours worth of cutscenes) that's why I'm not complaining at all when I see silly stuff like the Moogle Carnival or the new AC event, at least those are fun.
Also, now that I'm on the topic... I was recently asked what I thought about the story/characters of the game and honestly, now that I re-thought about it and compared it to other FF titles, man... FFXV probably has the worst story of a FF game imo (though I do not recall those from the very first games), I now have an even worse opinion then before, when I first completed it, that's making even me bash the game (something not common lol)
The characters too, they're all one dimensional, which makes them objectively not interesting (in the base game) and this is not anything new in these games, the thing is that even the protagonist, Noctis shows no depth until late in the game, where he gets his little develpment time.
To know their more about them (backstory), we have to watch the anime and play the characters episode (Prompto's was good).
Even characters like Ashe and Machina from FFXII and Type-0 (2 of the titles in which I see characters are critiziced the most from the fanbase) have both way more depth than all the characters combined in XV, making them way more interesting in my eyes.
Not saying I hated the game, I pretty much didn't dislike any FF game. There are a lot of things I did enjoy from XV as well
